How to Unlock Tender Valley and The Strayborough Deadwalk
In Final Fantasy XIV, there are typically two extra dungeons to unlock with each expansion that aren't part of the main storyline. Dawntrail is no different, and in order to unlock the Expert Roulette, you'll need to find and complete the quests that lead to the Tender Valley and The Strayborough Deadwalk Dungeons.
Finding and doing the quests that unlock these Dungeons isn't hard and won't take you long either, but the Dungeons themselves are a different story. They're meant to be level 100 Dungeons that serve as a challenge for players who have finished the main story.
How to Unlock the Tender Valley Dungeon
In order to unlock Tender Valley, head back to the starting city of Tuliyollal. Speak with Zeycihan at X: 14.0, Y: 12.5, who will give you the quest "It Belongs in a Museum". Follow the quest, which will take you to Shaaloani, and then you'll be able to enter the Dungeon. After you've completed it once, you'll be halfway to unlocking Expert Roulettes.
Tender Valley Rewards
The rewards from Tender Valley are highly sought after, mostly because neither of the big ticket items are guaranteed to drop. Along with Epochal 690 gear and XI and XII materia, the two rewards players should look out for are the Blessings on the Bluffs Orchestrion Roll and the Tankardtender minion, both of which have a chance of appearing after the third boss is defeated. Although not priced outside of most players' budgets, these two items will go for a high price on most servers.
How to Unlock The Strayborough Deadwalk
The second Dungeon is naturally found at the second city players unlock in Dawntrail, Solution 9. This spooky Dungeon requires the quest "Something Stray in the Neighborhood" and is found at X: 18.5, Y:18.2. Find Nostalgia, who will give you the quest which will lead you to Living Memory.
Finish the quest once and you will then have access to Expert Roulettes. Queuing for this Roulette will pull either of these two Dungeons or Alexandria, the last Dungeon in the Dawntrail MSQ.
The Strayborough Deadwalk Rewards
This Dungeon also has some highly desirable rewards, including the Mischief Maker minion and the Court Jesters Orchestrion Roll. Both of these items might appear after the last boss is defeated. Otherwise, players will be able to get the same materia and gear available in the Tender Valley Dungeon.
