With the release of FFXIV on Xbox scheduled for 2024, an Open Beta Test is scheduled for players to jump in for the first time and try out FFXIV before the full release.

FFXIV Xbox Open Beta Test Starting Date

The Open Beta Test for Xbox will begin on Wednesday, February 21st 2024, at 8:00 GMT/19:00 AEDT.

How to Participate

Certain settings may need to be enabled to access the game, as it's an online multiplayer experience. Head to the following section of the Xbox options:

• Settings >>> Account >>> Privacy & Online Safety >>> Xbox Privacy >>> View details & Customize
  • Set "You can see and upload community creations" to Everybody

From there, you can then head to the Microsoft Store and download the FFXIV Free Trial. This Free Trial does NOT require an Xbox Game Pass (Core or Ultimate) plan to play. The full version on Xbox Series X|S however WILL require an Xbox Game Pass subscription to play.

The full launch is scheduled immediately after the conclusion of the open beta test, and all game data will be transferred and a redownload won't be required.
