Casing the Jewel Store
Casing the Jewel Store is a Michael mission in IGN's Grand Theft Auto 5 Walkthrough. PART 1: CASING THE JOINT
After the cutscene, get in the car and drive over to Vangelico's. When you arrive, exit from the car and walk over to the jewelry store to trigger a cutscene.
GOLD MEDAL REQUIREMENTS: "Perfect Picture"
To achieve this requirement, Michael needs to snap one photo with all three security devices in the same shot. Move towards the front door and then get a view similar to the screencap above. Make sure the keypad, the air vent, and the security camera are all in frame before snapping the photo. If done correctly, Lester will chime in saying that he's got all the info needed for the store.
PART 2: ROOFTOP SHENANIGANS
Exit the store and get back in the car. Drive around the block to the southeastern corner of the building under construction. Go up the stairs and take the ladder to the roof.
Go the other side of the roof and climb up to the highest vantage point. From there, switch to Camera Mode and snap a photo of the air conditioning unit.
Once that's done, go back down to the car and drive back to the garment factory to choose the Heist plans (and complete the mission).

POST-MISSION: PLANNING THE HEIST
Immediately after the mission, Lester will set up the plans for the Heist and Mike will need to choose between going in Smart or doing it dumb and Loud.
If you go in Smart, you'll have to complete two additional missions but if you go in Loud, you'll only have one mission (though it's more dangerous). Choose wisely!
