By The Book is a Michael & Trevor mission in IGN's Grand Theft Auto 5 Walkthrough. First thing's first, get in the car and drive over to Rockford Hills to begin the first torture sequence.
MISSION NOTE
The torture sequences listed here don't need to be done in any particular order. Although to achieve the Gold in one try, you need to use all four torture devices WITHOUT killing Mr K.
Pick and choose your first torture device and use it on Mr. K.
GOLD MEDAL REQUIREMENTS: "IT'S LEGAL"
Choose the Jerry can and press the indicated button to flip the chair over. Use the Left Analog Stick to pour water on Mr. K's face.
After the first torture, get in the car and drive to the waypoint at Chumash to trigger the second torture sequence.
When the second torture is done, look thru the Sniper Rifle and then switch to Trevor to being the third torture sequence.

After the third torture, look thru the Sniper lens again and then switch to Trevor for the final torture sequence.
?GOLD MEDAL REQUIREMENTS: "ELECTROCUTIONER"
Choose the electric clamps and fire them up. Press and hold the indicated buttons to begin electrocuting Mr. K. Make sure you don't do it too long or you risk stopping his heart. To get Gold in one try, it is usual best to do this one last.
When that's done, look thru the Sniper lens and search for a man dressed in red overalls and smoking a cigarette with his left hand. Snipe him dead to complete Michael's sequence.
[Take note that this suspect's position changes on a Replay!]
Once all that is done, drive Mr. K to the airport to complete the mission.
