Start this mission by visiting Afterlife in Watson. Rogue is in the back of the bar. Wait for her to finisher her conversation then tell the bodyguard you have business with her. Johnny's thrilled. Rogue, a little less so.
V tells her about the man they're looking for need, and sure, Rogue can get it, but she wants payment. Johnny gives V tips here and there about things to tell Rogue as a retort, but in the end Rogue just wants a whopping $15,000 in payment for the information.
If you don't have the money, this is a good chance to try out some of the side gigs. You've probably had plenty of calls from other fixers at this point, and if you want something rather inconsequential but lucrative, you take care of the Reported Crimes on your map. Be sure to sell any common or uncommon weapon you don't plan on using too. You should have plenty from firefights.
While you're here, go ahead and pick up a Side Job from the man named Dennis near Rogue's booth.
Paying Rogue
Once you have $15,000 ready, return to Rogue (or pay her on the spot if you already have the ennies) and drop that cash. She'll have you sit down and orders drinks. Drinking is optional. Johnny takes a seat too.
A shard with information is delivered to Rogue and she passes it on to V. Hellman is hiding behind a Chinese corp and will be transported outside city limits soon. The thing is, his ride is industrial and you're going to need someone who knows the area of the Badlands Hellman is traveling to.
Rogue sets you up with Panam Palmer, an ex-Nomad who is in debt to Rogue after a botched job. Leave Afterlife once you're done talking to Rogue. This is a good time to finish up other business if you need to. When you're ready, call Panam.
Panam the Ex-Nomad
Before you can get to your actual mission, you'll need to help Panam get her car and cargo back. Meet her in Santo Domingo's Rancho Coronado. The San Amaro St fast travel point is the closest fast travel point you can get. When V gets there, Panam isn't too inclined on giving V attention, nor does she want to work with them.
As you progress through the conversation (being on the Nomad lifepath will give you an extra dialogue option), V gives Panam information on her car and cargo's location -- Rocky Ridge.
She'll make a call and you can question her bluff if you've got at least level 6 Intelligence. If not, keep the conversation moving. Johnny will question V's decision to go behind Rogue's back a bit, but you don't really have much of a choice here.
When the conversation winds down, hop into Panam's car. You'll take with her more on the ride to her former Nomad clan's camp, or you can skip the ride.
Visiting the Aldecaldos Nomad Camp
Upon arrival two men approach the car. Exit and Panam greets them warmly. These two, Mitch and Scorpion, were the ones Panam was hoping to recruit for the upcoming mission. They're occupied with clan business, though.
At the very least they offer Panam some gear. If you don't have time to explore the camp now you can always explore later. Follow Panam through the camp and enter the tent. She'll grab a big gun and you'll grab a big crate. V can't interact with anything while they're carrying the crate. Follow Panam back to the car and load the trunk with the crate.
Get back into the car and Panam drives V to Rocky Ridge, an abandoned town that was promised to be part of the city but didn't quite make it. Chat with Panam again during the car ride or skip the mission if you wish.
A Surprise at Rocky Ridge
When you arrive in the less than impressive Rocky Ridge, you're tasked with scouting the area. All you need to do is use your scanner on three things around V. They'll point out that nothing has power. Panam has a plan, though, and she'll need your help to get the power going again.
Follow her to the building with the big "Broken" tag on it and you'll need to scan a few things. First, scan the transformer in the back. Then you'll need to get to the roof of the building to scan the "power source" or fuse box. Return to Panam to talk more about the plan.
Panam wants to surprise the Shiv by flipping on the power to parts of Rocky Ridge. With a diversion in play, the group will split up and give V and Panam a chance to get back her car.
Follow the waypoint to the substation. On your way over you can pick up stuff around the environment, like this mod in the back of a broken down car's trunk.
Panam pulls the car around and tasks you with grabbing the car battery cable from the trunk. Grab it along with some other supplies then return to the hood of the car. Open it and connect the cables as Panam asks. Farwell, old car.
Now you need to enter the little power station building. The door is locked and can only be forced open if you have at least level 8 Body, but you can just break the window to the left of the door with a few melee hits and hop in. Panam will tell you to do the same if you take too long.
Inside you'll see two grenades and a Shard you can pocket before going to the control panel. Select the Local Network option and select "Activate" to restore power in the switchgear. Join Panam on the roof.
Hide behind the guardrail and ask Panam any final questions about the plan. Panam reaffirms she'll cover V's back and, with a flash, it's night.
Taking Back Panam's Car
The Shivs roll in and Panam is ready for blood. Wait for her to give the signal then pull the lever to turn on the lights. There are about 7 enemies below and the lights do their job of splitting them up. You can stay at your position on the roof and start shooting if you want (Panam will join you) or you can take a stealthy route.
When it comes down to it, your objective is to retrieve Panam's keys and her truck, so you don't have to kill everyone if you don't want to. There's no reason not to kill them for experience and take their weapons and loot, though. If you do choose to go guns blazing, know that there's an LMG and a sniper among their group.
If you do plan on hacking in this area go ahead and get your Breach Protocol hack in now so that you don't have to do it later.
For the stealth players out there, crouch after you pull the level and walk down the stairs. You'll want to head along the left, dark path of the road and around the back of the building that's now lit and loud.
On enemy is marked with the key and and they're posting up in the building. You can enter through an open door on the left or go all the way around the back of the building. There's one Shiv on the ground floor and your target is on the second, unaware of your movement (if you're playing stealth). Take out the enemy on the first floor, explore as you want, then make your way to the second floor.
The enemy with Panam's keys is looking out the window. Sneak up behind them and take them out. Just don't forget to look their body for the keys!
Once you have the keys you can tell Panam to meet up with you elsewhere or you can have her help you finish off the rest of the enemies. The choice is yours. She'll be a little irritated if you ask to meet up with her later.
If you come out the back side of the building you can still use the cover of darkness (and trash) to stealthily eliminate buildings. Two enemies to take note of:
- On the roof of the gas station is a sniper
- Between the bar and the gas station is a Wraith Goliath, an enemy with a heavy machine gun
If enemies are still unaware of your presence you can sneak up behind the Wraith Goliath and murder him behind the bar. Then you can take his machine gun and wreak havoc.
In addition to the sniper and heavy machine gun guy, there are three more enemies roaming the street beyond. Once you've killed them or snuck past them, you can take Panam's car. If she's not with you you'll go to the meeting point not far away. Follow the 300M waypoint a few streets over and stop the car. Panam is ready to take the wheel. And she's ready for revenge.
Major Ghost Town Choice - Helping Panam Get Revenge or Sticking to the Original Plan
Panam wants V's help to get her revenge against Nash and is crew.
Nash wasn't at the shootout, so Panam wants to take the shootout to him. Here are your options:
- Nash hunt wasn't part of the deal.
- Let's do the 6th Street deal first.
- You wanna raid the Raffen base? Are you outta your mind?
- Ok. So where's this hideout?
We highly recommend joining Panam on her revenge spree to Nash's hideout. You don't get to go back to that part of the mission and you'll miss out on excellent loot (and XP of course) if you don't join her attack on the hideout.
If you don't want to help Panam take out Nash at his hideout, click or tap here to skip to the next objective. Choosing not to help her will not impact your relationship significantly, though unsurprisingly she won't be pleased.
Hitting the Hideout
If you opt to hit the hideout with Panam, get ready. It's one hell of a shootout. Panam tells V a bit more about herself on the drive over, and when you've reached the hideout, Panam will wait for your cue to go. Once she parks in the cave have your gun ready and take cover. Panam didn't exactly park you in a good spot, but there's cover right near the car. This encounter is a challenge if you're not over-leveled, but having grenades at the ready will help immensely.
When the fight starts take out the three to four enemies in front half of the ground floor and choose where you're going to move. Stay behind cover as much as you can here. An enemy somewhere on the right will try to hack you if you're out in the open too long. One of the guys on the second floor has a sniper too.
If you choose to move into the arena, inch toward the right side past the initial cover spot and do your best to stay behind objects and rocks. Alternatively, you can make your stand in the building on the left if you have good ranged weapons.
You won't have long before Nash's reinforcements start driving up in two cars. Get your grenades at the ready! If you move quickly, you can chuck two or three grenades at the cars as they park so the two enemies in each car die almost immediately.
You should have four or five more to deal with. This include Nash. At least four of them (including Nash) are on the second floor and there should be another near the back corner of the first floor under the second floor walkway. They will move between the floors if they need to, so play this area as aggressively or slowly as you need to based on how you've built V.
Nash is in the building on the second floor, shooing with a Tech Precision Rifle. You can kill him before you eliminate the rest of his allies, but the fight won't stop until you've murdered everyone. Once you have, loot to your heart's desire. The most important thing you'll want to grab here is Nash's rifle, Widow Maker, a rare Iconic weapon!
Return to Panam when you're satisfied with your loot.
Panam calls Rogue to boast about her accomplishment, but Rogue doesn't entertain Panam's victory. Hope into the passenger seat when you're ready to leave and meet up with 6th Street.
The 6th Street Deal
Once Panam arrives at the Sunset Motel, she will meet with the 6th Street crew in the parking lot. Cautious as always, V will stand by the car prepared to engage if the deal goes south.Having questioned Panam on Nash, the 6th Street crew turns their attention towards V and explains that they merely work together. Happy with the merch, the 6th Crew thank Panam and give her a tip for the quality of the product.Once the 6th Crew has left, follow Panam to the nearby bar. When sitting down, you'll both discuss the events just occurred and depending on your V's gender, you can choose to share a room with Panam.
Despite Male V hoping for something more, Panam will shutdown your attempts at Romance. Should you opt for the shared room, follow Panam to the hotel room and sleep in the single bed to end the mission.
