Trouble Center
The Trouble Center is the second to last door to the right in East Rogueport. Here you can pick up tasks to complete all over the island for rewards, helping citizens with their “troubles.” This building essentially acts as the main hub for Side Quests in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
Check the list to the right of the teller window to check out what quests are available at any given point in time. New quests will be added after completing chapters of story. When accepting a quest, you’ll get a small blurb about what the quest is about and then you can accept the quest or cancel. If you’re having trouble finding directions for some of them, you can ask the purple mouse that’s in the corner of the room for information. It will cost you some coin…or you could just follow this handy guide.
Many of the Trouble Center requests are not as involved as more modern side quests and fall under the domain of “fetch” quests, where you need to find something or acquire something to give back to the character who asked for it. This guide has all the Trouble Center requests and how to solve them.

Quests Available After Prologue
Need a key!
- Quest Giver: Garf
- Reward: 30 Coins
In the Inn in Rogueport, exit out of the door on the second floor. The house key is found to the left of the badge shop. Bring this back to the house to the very right of East Rogueport.
Safe delivery…

Go to Rogueport Plaza and look behind Zess T's shop to find a Goomba. He gives Mario a package that must be delivered to the Goomba in front of the professor's house. After delivering the package, return to the first Goomba to collect your reward.
Competitor research!
- Quest Giver: Arfur
- Reward: 30 Coins
Arfur, who is directly in front of the Trouble Center, wants to know the prices of the items in the Rogueport item shop. The item costs are: Honey Syrup: 5 Tasty Tonic: 3 Fire Flower: 10 Sleepy Sheep: 8. Report to Arfur in front of the item shop and answer his price questions to complete the quest.

- Quest Giver: Goomther
- Reward: 30 Coins
Speak to the Goomba next to the hangman's stand in the plaza to start the quest. The first hiding spot is behind the hole in the wall to the left of the wizard's shop. The second hiding spot is down by the dock to the left of the steps. The third hiding spot is behind the Inn.

Hit me, please!
- Quest Giver: Mousimilian
- Reward: Tip to buy sleepy sheep in Rogueport and sell them in Petalburg
Meet the mouse in front of the shop in town square. Talk to him, then hit him in the head with your hammer. Keep doing this until he remembers what he needs to. (Once he remembers, do not hit again or he will forget.)
I’m hungry!
- Quest Giver: Bomberto
- Reward: 11 Coins
The Bomb-omb down by the save point at the docks is hungry. Speak to him and then give him a food item to complete the quest. He particularly likes mushrooms.

Quests Available After Clearing Chapter 1
Try to find me!
- Quest Giver: Koopook
- Reward: Special Card
Koopook is hidden somewhere in Hooktail Castle. When Mario takes the big green block up as an elevator, he should drop down to the left of the room (once he gets to the top; don’t jump off the moving elevator). He will land on a ledge where there is a life shroom and Koopook.
Listen to me!
- Quest Giver: Mayor Koop
- Reward: Turtle Leaf
Head to Petalburg and simply talk to the mayor in his pink house.
Help me restock!
- Quest Giver: Plenn T
- Reward: Ultra Shroom
You must obtain 5 courageous shells for the shopkeeper in Rogueport. These can be bought at the store in Petalburg.

Quests Available After Clearing Chapter 2
Life Mushroom!

You must bring the Puni Elder a Life Mushroom. These can be bought in the West Rogueport shop.

Talk to the kitty at the teller window in the Pianta Parlor.

Help my Daddy!

- Reward: Silver Card
Go to the Pit of 100 trials next to the Thousand-Year Door and talk to the kid waiting at the entrance. You must battle to the 18th floor to find his dad. Then go down to the 20th and take the pipe back up and speak to the father and son.

Help wanted!?
- Quest Giver: Jolene
- Reward: 30 Coins
Go to Glitzville and walk into the manager's office to speak with Jolene. She wants Mario to clean up all of the battle trunks in the store room. Go to the store room and pick up all of the trunks on the first and second floor. Once you get them all, talk to Jolene again. Then head back to Rogueport and talk to Goomther the Goomba who stands in front of the Professor's house. He takes the smelly trunks off your hands and you can report back to Jolene.
Heartful Cake recipe…
- Quest Giver: Merlee
- Reward: 30 Coins

Go to Petalburg and speak to Tost T two houses to the right of the Mayor's house. She informs Mario that one needs cake mix and ruin powder to make a cake. Then speak to Merlee in the background of the area that Mario reaches by taking the warp pipe in front of the Professor's house. You must then buy some cake mix at the Pianta Parlor for 6 Pianta Coins.
The food I want

- Reward: Dried Bouquet
Speak to the character with the flower on their head in the western section of Petalburg. He will request a hotdog. Travel to Glitzville and buy 2 hotdogs at the stand and return to Petalburg to deliver the item. Bub-ulber will want another hotdog after his first one and then request a mouse cake. Get cake mix from the Pianta Parlor and then take it to Zes T. to have it made into mousse cake. Deliver this back to Petalburg.

Seeking legendary book!
- Quest Giver: Zess T?
- Reward: Honey Shroom, unlocks cooking with 2 ingredients

Visit Zess T. and she will ask Mario to find a legendary cookbook in the Creepy Steeple. To find the book go to the creepy steeple and in the first room roll into a tube to enter a room along the back wall.
Elusive Badge
- Quest Giver:????
- Reward: Attack FX B Badge and Ms. Mowz joins the party
Meet up with Ms. Mowz on the roof of Zes T's which can be reached from the inn. She wants an elusive badge in Hooktail Castle that can be found using the wind. Travel to the castle and head up to the tower where Hooktail used to reside. In the center of the room use Flurrie's wind and reveal a chest containing an Attack FX B badge. Return to the top of Zes T's shop and give Ms Mowz the badge.

Travel to Twilight Town and speak to Eve in the first house in the eastern section of town. She will ask Mario to speak to Podley, who runs the bar in the inn in Rogueport. Speak to Podley and then return to talk to Eve.
Looking for a gal
- Quest Giver: Goom Goom?
- Reward: Couple’s Cake
In the Pirate's Grotto storage room (the one with all the barrels and the rickety elevator), speak to the Goomba with Goombella as a team member.

Head to Twilight Town and speak to the Mayor. You must then visit the elder at the Boggly Tree and the Mayor of Petalburg before revisiting the Mayor of Twilight Town.

Quests Available After Clearing Chapter 6

Meet Frankie in West Rogueport by the flower garden. He has lost his wedding ring again. This can be found on the east side of Rogueport by using Yoshi to jump across the gap to the very right of the screen.
Get these ingredients?!
- Quest Giver: Chef Sim
- Reward: 40 Coins
Chef Simi is the cheep-cheep cook on the Excess Express. Speak to him and he will request three items. The first is a golden leaf. This can be found at the Creepy Steeple. Go to the room with the box that moves the staircase and walk to the hall in the background. There is a break in the fence here that Mario can turn sideways through. Then walk to the right to find an area with a tree. Hit the tree with your hammer to get the gold leaf. The next item is a mystic egg. Play the game with Petuni back at the Boggly Tree. The reward is a mystic egg. The third item is a Keel Mango, which is in the first area of the jungle on Keelhaul Key. Hit the tree to the left of the red switch. Return to Chef Simi with these items.

Travel to Poshley Heights and speak to Toodles inside the big pink house. You must go to Glitzville and get a magazine from Jolene and return it to Toodles.

?Speak to the Hamster next to the hotdog stand in Glitzville and he will ask Mario to find his lost code. The code is 2625.
Quests Available After Clearing Chapter 7
Delivery, please!

- Quest Giver: Goldbob
- Reward: 64 Coins
Goldbob wants the player to deliver a package to General White. The player must venture to Fahr Outpost and speak to the Bob-omb in the General's house. He will tell the player that General White is in Rogueport. Podley at the inn will tell the player that General White has gone to Glitzville, so the player should go to Glitzville and chat with the Juice Bar owner, then return to Poshley Heights and talk to Goldbob. Lastly, the player should return to Fahr Outpost to wake up the General. Giving the package to the General and returning to Poshley Heights will get the player the reward.

For this task, first go to Zess T and give her honey syrup and cake mix. Both can be bought in Rogueport at the item shop and in Pianta Parlor. Zess T will use them to make Honey Candy. Then, travel to the Fahr Outpost and give it to Bob-omb next to the snowman.
I wanna meet Luigi!
- Quest Giver: Toadia
- Reward: Choco Cake
Go to Poshley Heights and talk to the girl next to the fountain by the sanctum. She wants to talk to Luigi. This can be accomplished by equipping the L Emblem on Mario. The emblem is found inside the sanctum in the painting room on the top of the left side. Spring jump to reach these levels.

Roust these cads

Go to the second area of the Boggly Woods and beat up on the bad guys there to clear the path for Doe T.
Help me make up?
- Quest Giver: Bub
- Reward: 3 Coins
Talk to the Bob-omb near the fountain and the sanctum in Poshley Heights. Choose one of the items as a gift to give his mom. When you get the item, return to the bomb and then talk to his mom in the first area of Poshley Heights. Return to speak to him to finish the task. The Keel Mango can be found in Keelhaul Key by hitting the tree to the left of the red switch in the first area with a hammer. The Fright Mask is also purchasable at the item shop on Keelhaul Key for only a couple of coins.

Erase that graffiti?
- Quest Giver: Swob
- Reward: Snow Bunny
Go to the Fahr Outpost to speak to the Bomb next to the statue of the cannon. He wants Mario to get rid of the graffiti on the 50th floor of the cave of 100 trials. Get rid of the graffiti by blowing it up with Bobbery. Return to the Fahr Outpost and speak to the Bob-omb.
