Tywin Lannister, Lord?of Casterly Rock, Warden of the West, father of Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion Lannister, and one time Hand of the King. He is one of the most powerful men in the Seven Kingdoms, and arguably one time controlled them as Hand of the King. ?
He is cold and calculating with his enemies, but at times shows affection for his children, especially Jamie. He is very loyal to his family and holds the honor of House Lannister's name above all else.

Although he loves his children, he deeply despises Tyrion for the fact that he blames him for the death of his beloved wife Joanna Lannister during his birth.
Despite this, he begins to warm up to Tyrion after seeing he's not just a drunk with an affinity for brothels. He acknowledged Tyrion's cunning, even allowing him to serve as Hand of the King in his absence while fighting the Starks.
He is played by Charles Dance in the HBO TV show and makes his first appearence in Episode 7 of Season 1.
