Where to Find Sunshrooms in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Sunshrooms are uncommon in most areas, but you can find them in abundance in the hotter regions of Hyrule, especially in the Eldin Mountains north to northwest of Goron City. Typically, in the Eldin Mountains, you can find Sunshrooms near the feet of tree trunks and cliffsides, as well as near large red rocks and along the feet of the large red rocky hills and mountains that make up most of the landscape.
You can reach the Sunshroom locations, marked by yellow leaf icons on the map above, by paragliding north from the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower. While searching this area for Sunshrooms, it will also significantly help to have unlocked Sensor+ on your Purah Pad so you can track them with the sensor.
Common Locations:
- Eldin Canyon
- Gerudo Highlands
Sunshroom Location - Atop the Satori Mountain Foothill Cave Entrance
You can find up to at least eight Sunshrooms in the tiny woodland area above the Satori Mountain Foothill Cave entrance, a bit northwest of the Usazum Shrine. This location is excellent because it's in a temperate climate, allowing you to get many types of mushrooms, including Sunshrooms, without special armor or food.
While this location may not be too close to a Skyview Tower, it's well worth the trip either by horse from Outskirt Stable or paragliding west from the Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and then trekking a bit to unlock the Usazum Shrine fast travel point so you can make quick returns for more mushrooms later one.

Tips for Finding Sunshrooms
- Explore the hot arid regions of Hyrule and look near the feet of rocky terrain and cliffsides, stone ruins, and tree trunks.
- Unlock the Camera and Sensor+ upgrades for your Purah Pad so you can snap a photo of a Sunshroom to add them to your Hyrule Compendium. Once you've done that, you can target Sunshrooms with the Purah Pad sensor, and it will ping you as you close in on their locations.
Sunshroom Uses
Sunshrooms are essential for cooking mushroom-related recipes that, when consumed, will help keep you warmer while exploring the unbearably cold regions of Hyrule. If you'd like the warming effect to be stronger and last longer, you can add even more Sunshrooms to the recipe for greater effect. Cooking five Sunshrooms together will make a dish that restores five hearts and warms you with rank two cold resistance, which is more warming than a dish made with Spicy Peppers. You can also use Sunshrooms as an ingredient to dye your armor red at the Hateno Dye Shop.
