Enemies
Enemies
This is your standard army grunt. He comes equipped with a measly machinegun that does little damage to the mighty Hulk. Even though these little buggers are everywhere, they should always be an afterthought. Use them as projectiles, bash them around if you need health or some extra rage, but there's no tip or trick to defeating these fools -- all you need to do is hit the punch button a few times.
Shield Bearer
This military man has no gun, but instead uses an electrical riot shield. The Hulk cannot leap over the shield or harm the shield bearer with his hands of feet as long as the shield is up. You have two options for hurting this fool. The first is the most fun. Grab an object and bash the sucker with it. Yup, just pick up a pipe or a car and swing away. The other option is to let the shield bearer near Hulk. Don't attack, let him approach. When he's within striking distance, he'll lower his shield so he can attack Hulk. That's your opening for a quick and deadly strike.
Rocket Man
The final army goon packs some serious rocket launching heat. These annoying humans stand at the outskirts of a battle and fire powerful RPGs at Hulk. You can swat away any incoming missile by hitting the punch button right before the missile hits Hulk. Moving in close to the Rocket Man is one option, but he'll often back away quickly once you being your approach. Your best bet is to throw something at him (preferably another soldier) then run to him while he's down and beat the snot out of him.
Robot Enforcer
The naughty robos are the toughest infantry the military will throw at you. Don't let their shiny exterior full you, these robots are just a few devastating punches away from being scrap metal. Robos never travel alone, which is the one thing that makes them tough to handle. Grabbing a robo and throwing them at one of their buddies is a smart choice. It's not the Enforcer's attacks that will wear down the Hulk, its their longevity. Throws are most effective and the overhead slam is also a good choice for dealing with this metal menace.
Tank
Tanks may seem tough on the surface, but it only takes a few hits to take one out, so don't freak. The tanks in Hulk don't move once they've reached attack position, giving you a major advantage. You can swat their mortar blasts back at them with a well-timed punch or simply hop out of the way to avoid being hit. Tanks have an energy shield, which they will turn on as soon as the Hulk gets within arms length. When you see the shield charging up above the tank, back off. The shield lasts for about 10 seconds. The best method for disposing of a tank is using projectiles or swatting back their own mortar rounds. However, you can also charge up a strike, hit the tank, back up, and hit again once the shield is down. This takes a bit longer, but is effective.
Helicopter
The helicopters in Hulk aren't really a problem. You rarely face one and when you do, they are more of a cosmetic effect rather than an actual threat. You can't jump up to hit them, so grab an object, target the helicopter, and launch said object skyward. Usually two hits from a big object will take down a chopper.
Autocannon
The autocannon can be a pain. While it only slowly widdles down Hulk's health, it will concentrate fire and track Hulk's movements throughout an area. Always take out autocannons first, before worrying about the other enemies in a room. A few hits will do this on in, though a few well-placed projectiles from far away will give you a better chance of avoiding damage.
Hulk Hound
These cute pooches are tough to kill and love to play with Hulk. These naughty little pups have two attacks: A standard bite and a tackle. The tackle puts Hulk on the ground, with the Hulk Hound bearing down on him. Toggle the left analogue to free yourself. Fighting the Hounds is simply a matter of persistent battering. The Hounds can't be thrown, but a grab allows Hulk to give them a knee to the chin. You're better off with punch. Be careful when using the air strike, however, because Hulk Hounds can leap up and knock you from the air. Best to stay on the ground and use objects to batter the beasts senseless.
Gamma Guard
The Leader's first wave of goons offer a hand-to-hand challenge for Hulk. Aside from standard punches and throws, they also have a sonic clap that stuns Hulk. When you see one of the guards' hands glowing, he's about to do such an attack. Leap over the guard to avoid being stunned. These guys are tough, but any attack form will do the trick.
Gamma Elite
The hardest of the endlessly spawning creatures in the world of the Hulk. These guys pack a mean whallop with their gamma rifles. The rifles are high-powered and rapid-fire. Though they'll shoot green projectiles in slow succession when you are dodging, the moment you've been hit (and stunned) the Gamma Elite unload with a steady stream of fire that can kill Hulk in under thirty seconds. Air attacks are a bit risk, because the Elite's can track Hulk in the air. But air punches are the easiest way to gain ground and reach an Elite, since they back up to avoid contact with Hulk. Objects are your best shot, though. These bastards take a while to fall down, but keeping them from being able to shoot (by being aggressive and attacking hard and fast) is your only real shot of surviving to the end of the game.
Bosses
Strategies for the five bosses in Hulk are discussed in the walkthrough.
