Companion App (iFruit)
The?iFruit is a companion app that can currently be downloaded for free on iOS devices and Android devices (via Google Play) as well as for Windows Phone, Kindle Fire HD, and soon, on PlayStation Mobile and PlayStation Vita. [1]
The App allows people to interact with their game in ways not possible through the game itself. Players will log in using their already established Rockstar Social Club?account. This account must be linked with your Playstation Network or Xbox Live account in order for it to be effective in your game. Below is the list of 9 options available to you when you log into iFruit.
Los Santos Customsos
This app allows players to customize their vehicles while away from the game. The app is used to change simple things to the car such as engine size, type of alloys you want to place on the car, exhaust, respray and even the type of horn you want installed in the car. In addition, you can change your car's license plate, something you can't do directly in GTA 5. The changes can be made to each characters car.
Chop The Dog
Chop is a rottweiler owned by Lamar Davis, though cared for and homed by Franklin. Chop is unlocked early in the game, and the player can begin training him as Franklin to improve his value as an ally. Chop can help you seek out items and collectibles you may have never found otherwise. In order to improve Chop, you will need to increase his level of happiness by feeding him, playing with him and partaking in minigames through the iFruit app.
As well as offering minigames, the app makes it possible to change Chop's dog collar. Doing all these things require the use of credits, which are given automatically through the day or can be earned by one of the three separate minigames.
There is a gold collar for Chop that is unlocked by getting a gold medal for all three of the minigames. The minigames themselves have the same basic control scheme, where you control chop by dragging a line across the screen to control where he walks. There is the park level, where Chop must ward off other dogs from his bitch, the street level, where he must attack Ballas that are trying to destroy Franklin's car, and a beach level, where Chop must collect the panties of the many women at the beach. If you want to play fetch with other items in Franklin's apartment, throw the blue ball off to the left or right of the screen. Chop will return with something new.?

When Will iFruit come to Android?
The IFruit companion app released for Android devices on October 28, 2013; some fans were not satisfied with the delay between the Android and iOS versions of the app, and complained about its incompatibility with a significant number of Android devices. Users were quick to find workarounds that allowed use of the app on supposedly 'incompatible' hardware.
Prior to the release of the Android app, Rockstar released two different statements reiterating their intention to release it.
"For those asking about the Android version of the free iFruit companion app, we are working very hard to get that out as soon as possible. We will of course update this post as soon as it’s available at Google Play and we thank you for your patience." [2]
This message was later updated, and read as below:
"We know many of you Android users are very anxious for the free iFruit companion app to be published at Google Play - we wish we could provide a definite release day and time for you but all we can say right now is that we're still working on it and are trying to get it out to you as soon as possible. To be clear though for anyone asking, there is no component of the iFruit app whatsoever required to 100% the game. The functionality and features of the iFruit app are just a bonus to the in-game experience. Sorry for the delay everyone and we thank you for your patience."
Prior to the release of the real application, a developer uploaded a malicious fake to the Play Store, masquerading as the real Rockstar Games development team.
