The Stormlands

The Stormlands is a formidable region of Westeros north of Dorne and south of King's Landing. House Baratheon rules the Stormlands, from their seat at Storm's End. They were given that land to rule from the Targaryens, as they were their bastard cousins. The climate of the region is wet and consists mainly of large forests and rocky coasts. Wild storms repeatedly crash against the lands along the sea. Storm's End has been rebuilt six times, each castle larger than the last to withstand the terrible winds and weather. ?The fortress is made of massive fitting stones, fourty to eighty feet thick.?

Bastards born in the Stormlands adopt the surname Storm.
