The Kingdoms of Westeros, commonly called the Seven Kingdoms, are large regions of land governed from King's Landing. The Kingdoms were once seven independent regions at the time of the arrival of Aegon the Conqueror. Each Kingdom is ruled by one of the great houses established by Aegon the Conqueror. All are ruled from the Iron Throne, a throne made from melted swords and blades upon Aegon's successful conquest. Millions of people live in the Kingdoms, with all climates found within.
