Sonic Lost World is a fun game with controls that are smooth, beautiful looks, a banging soundtrack as you'd expect and solid levels. It's too bad the writing and the Deadly Six hold me back from giving this a higher score
It's a great game for old Mario fans but for a sonic fan it's okay or at least it is for me
While it has its moments, this game doesn't really work. The very bland presentation and world design feels like a poor imitation of a Mario game. Some of the mechanics and levels can be fun, especially in the first few hours. But annoying gimmicks that force you to slow down made it too frustrating to finish.
it ain't no mario galaxy I'll tell you that, this game is fun but it's a pretty tough cookie as one of the other reviews describe it!!

Sonic Lost World is a tough cookie that ends up almost crumbling. While some of it's level design like honeycomb highway and tropical coast act 3 are actually good attempts of reinventing the franchise's speed philosophy. The others just feel either short and decent or just plain bad and boring at best. It's a mixed bag but what doesn't help is how sonic feels. It's not the momentum that's the problem it's the physics in movement, when you turn around within the mario galaxy level design it jerks to a halt interrupting the speed that sonic was known for in the past. But finally the boss fights are extremely easy and just not fun and to just make fun of instead. But the most interesting thing in the game is how you can parkour while running on walls which feels clunky but fun. It's definitely a really interesting idea in the franchise and I wish it was used in more of these sonic games. But it doesn't help the fact that this game just feels almost mediocre and doesn't do anything really fun or exciting with it's concept, instead your stuck with a sonic game that just feels really lack luster but not insulting.
IGN Review
Sonic Lost World lacks speed, precision and fluidity making it a big step back for the Blue Blur.
