This Week on the Nintendo eShop (Mar. 27, 2014)

The biggest deal this week is free DLC for Sonic Lost World on Wii U that is themed after The Legend of Zelda. Other than that, it's the regular pair of Wii U and 3DS Virtual Console games and a smattering of other downloadable titles, including the ridiculously named I am an Air Traffic Controller Airport Hero Hawaii, which is on 3DS. There's also a killer Ubisoft eShop sale if you missed out on ZombiU or Rayman Legends.

The Legend of Zelda Zone in Sonic Lost World

As revealed on IGN, The Legend of Zelda Zone is coming to Sonic Lost World on Wii U for free today. You play as Sonic as he goes on an adventure in a green tunic, running into all sorts of Zelda secrets, enemies, and references.

3DS Original Download Games

I am an Air Traffic Controller Airport Hero Hawaii ($19.99)

This game has a really long name, but no matter what, it's all about simulating the life of an air traffic controller in Hawaii. Honestly, I'm not sure if this game is real or not. Like, look at that name. It's ridiculous. The concept is bonkers, but I'm probably going to go home tonight and download this at 2 a.m. half-asleep while watching Airplane. Luckily, there's a demo. So try that out and then we can all hash it out later.

Skater Cat ($4.99)

He's a cat. Who is a skater. Get it? From Teyon and Fun Unit, Skater Cat is a skateboarding game with a focus on goofy cat jokes and time trials. It features three worlds with more than 25 levels. StreetPass and SpotPass features let you exchange your best times with the ones of other Skater Cat players. Heck, you can even skate around as your Mii. Maybe as a cat? Skater Mii might have been a game on the Wii...

Wii U Original Download Games

My Style Studio: Hair Salon ($4.99)

From Cypronia comes a new Wii U game all about cutting, curling, and coloring hair of all shapes and sizes. There are five characters to choose from to style any way you want using a wide variety of tools, 13 in total.

Wii U Virtual Console

Dr. Mario ($4.99)

You ever wonder where Dr. Luigi got his idea from? Well, it's from this 1990 NES release. Designed by Gunpei Yokoi, it's a puzzle game in the same vein as Tetris, but now you're fighting viruses by jamming pills down people's throats. I'm not quite sure where Mario got his degree from, but I don't think it's a recognized university in the United States.

3DS Virtual Console

Clu Clu Land ($4.99)

This early NES game stars a fish named Bubbles who, for some reason, has to spin around poles to regain treasures from an evil sea urchin. It's pretty fun, and was featured in NES Remix on Wii U last year. Still, Clu Clu Land is an NES game from 1985. For all its arcade fun, Clu Clu Land is a little basic.

Ubisoft Sale

A ton of Ubisoft games on Wii U and 3DS are on sale from now until March 31 for up to 50% off. Some great games are included, such as Ghost Recon Shadow Wars ($14.99) on the 3DS, and ZombiU ($29.99), Rayman Legends ($27.99), and Assassin's Creed IV ($41.99) on the Wii U.

DSiWare

I am in the Movie ($1.99)

Hey gang, it's your old pal DSiWare here! I'm still around. I am in the Movie is $2 and lets you use the DSi or 3DS camera to create movie scenes. It "literally" puts you inside famous Hollywood movies. You can even save photos and put them on an SD card so you can show all of your friends.

Neal Ronaghan is a freelance writer who loves Dr. Mario and Clu Clu Land as much as the next guy, but would really love to see some more interesting Virtual Console games. Advance Wars on GBA is satisfactory next week.
