Scratchy-Throat Belome

Scratchy-Throat Belome is a postgame boss in Super Mario RPG. He's a powered-up version of the same Belome you fought earlier in your adventure. After defeating him, you'll get Mallow's strongest weapon, the Sage Stick.

Belome has quite a bit of HP at 4600, but he’s weak to Lightning, Fear, Poison, and Mute, which means that Mallow, Bowser, and Peach can all help with the battle. Unfortunately, if you do Mute him with Peach, it won’t stop him from cloning your allies, but it will stop some of his other attacks. If you use Thought Peek with Mallow, you’ll see that Belome’s thoughts will match one of the pink stars you found on Star Hill. Interesting…

Focus Belome’s clones down first since they’ll have relatively Low HP but provide him with powerful shields. Keep him muted, poisoned, or feared, and hit him with Shocker to finish the battle quickly without letting his clone buffs stack up. It’s also probably smart to keep Peach out of the battle until needed, as she can swap in and remove allies’ adverse status effects. After beating Belome, he’ll cough up the Sage Stick, a special weapon for Mallow that increases his magical power as well as his physical strength.?
