Essence of Dragon Strikes - Brawler Style
Grab an enemy and swing them around while knocking down up to two other bandits around you. This is a great skill for when you’re surrounded by multiple threats it doesn’t require much Heat.
This skill requires Essence of Mighty Strikes and the following move first.
Komaki Dharma Tumbler - Brawler Style
Apart from knowing how to pack a punch, you should always have your defensive options updated. Komaki Dharma Tumbler is a roll that you can perform in multiple directions. It’s a great choice for when a simple evasion won’t do the trick and there are bandits with heavy weapons in front of you.
This is the first lesson from Komaki, the master of combat available in the southeastern side of Fushimi.
Knowledge of the Odachi - Swordsman Style
The odachi is a greatsword that is slower but also stronger than your average katana. You’ll have a new variety of moves by unlocking this skill, and you can increase that pool by getting the adjacent skills.
You’ll get an odachi just by the end of Chapter 1, after defeating a mini-boss in a dungeon.

Essence of the Skewering Cuts - Swordsman Style
One of the most destructive skills you can use as a Swordsman, the Essence of the Skewering Cuts ends with you swinging around an enemy that you have impaled with your sword. It deals a good chunk of damage and it doesn’t take much of your Heat gauge.
Before being able to perform this move, you require Essence of Single Cuts and its consecutive skill.
Essence of Finishing Stab - Swordsman Style
Heat moves that deal damage to enemies on the floor are always useful, and they are even better if you have a katana in your hand. This finishing stab is a great way of finishing enemies with low health without giving them any chance to get back up.
Essence of Finishing Shots - Gunman Style
Just like the finishing stab with the Swordsman style, Essence of Finishing Shots is the same deal but using your guns. It comes with a perk, though: you can use it from longer distances, taking advantage of your Gunman style, while the other finishing moves require you to be next to the fallen enemy.
Enhanced Rounds Knowhow - Gunman Style
You won’t get far with only your regular shots, so learning how to craft your enhanced ones (and the rest of the list, like the poison, acid, and fire rounds) is crucial. Once you unlock this skill, you’ll be able to create your own bullets at the blacksmith.

To unlock this skill, you first need to complete the second lesson from William Bradley, the master of combat available in the center of Rakugai.
Typhoon of Steel and Fire - Wild Dancer Style
A powerful move that is one of the first strong ones that you can unlock with the Wild Dancer style. You’ll attack with both your gun and sword delivering devastating blows by just pressing your Heat button while having an enemy lock-on. It consumes Heat, but it’s worth it.
To unlock this skill, you need to unlock Rain of Steel and Fire and the following move first.
Essence of Sature - Wild Dancer Style
Not the easiest move on the list, but one that exceeds in countering your enemies’ attacks. Essence of Sature is a Heat move that you activate right before the enemy is going to hit you — you have a small window in which you’ll see the Heat icon below your Heat gauge. If you press it correctly, you’ll turn the tide and deplete a good amount of their health bar.
Splendid Skill: Moonlit Sake - Wild Dancer Style
Do you want to break the Wild Dancer style? Unlock this move and you’ll be using this style more frequently. While it’s a simple “attack after evasion” type of move, you’ll be able to evade and hit back so effortlessly and quickly that your opponents (even some bosses) won’t know what to do to stop you.
To get this skill, you need to complete the first lesson for the Wild Dancer style from Ginryu, the master of combat located in the west dojo in Rakunai.
