Having good swords and guns is an important part of the combat in Like a Dragon: Ishin! Your battles will become easier if you upgrade your equipment from time to time, and you’ll also have more fun with some ridiculous effects and powerful perks.
However, it’s worth mentioning that, depending on the difficulty you’re playing, you won’t need to craft every weapon here. Perhaps not even a single one. The thing is, crafting only one of the most expensive ones might take you dozens of hours due to its high costs. That’s why this guide also includes some more affordable pieces of equipment for you.

Best Katana
This is the weapon that you’ll use in the Swordsman and Wild Dancer styles. There are more katana than any other type of weapon in the game, and their effect and stats have a wild range. Let’s explore some of the most useful ones below.
Eternal Gold
A great pick without going to the high tiers. The Eternal Gold is a great katana that will give you a small but very useful increase in how fast you charge your Heat gauge. Its base damage is average, but it can be improved.
It requires one Gold Dust, five Precious Steel, and one Radiant Drunkard. It costs 4 Ryo and 9,500 Mon.

Masamune
Performing Heat moves with Ryoma is one of the key elements of the battles. Therefore, you’ll want to have your Heat gauge as full as possible every time. This katana will help you with that, having a 14% bonus for increasing your meter.
It requires one Jet Black Belt, ten Gold Chunks, five Platinum Filings, and one Eternal Gold. It costs 52 Ryo and 9,200 Mon.
Muramasa
Do you like weapons with life steal in games? Then this is your weapon in Like a Dragon: Ishin! The Muramasa blade has a 16% life steal bonus, which means that you will heal that percentage based on the damage you deal to any enemy.
It costs one Bloodstained Cloth, ten Gold Nuggets, five Gold Chunks, and one Skink Lizard. It costs 52 Ryo and 9,200 Mon.
Juzu-maru

The perfect sword for farming items and leveling up. Apart from having a sweet attack score of 830, the Sparkling Jelly Blade gives you increased EXP and drop rate of items (7% and 6% percent, respectively).
It costs 40 Taros, five Gold Nuggets, five Gold Chunks, and one Jelly Blade. It costs 52 Ryo and 9,200 Mon.
Best Guns
You'll have to shoot your way into victory using different types of revolvers and pistols. You'll use them in the Gunman and Wild Dancer styles.
Golden Gun

The classic Golden Gun from the Yakuza series makes its appearance in Like a Dragon: Ishin! This is simply one of the strongest weapons in the game, period.
