Checklists
Another Life
Fairly early on in Ishin you will come across a Haruka, a young woman suffering from some financial hardships. After losing both of her parents, Haruka can't afford to live in her childhood home any longer, and the landlord is reclaiming the property unless she can be off the debt on the property.
Being the kind soul that Ryoma is, he decides to take on the 100 ryo debt himself and in return, you now have access to your own little home! At the villa, you will be able to adopt pets, grow crops, and more!
To access the villa, speak with the ferryman in South Yashikimachi of Fushimi.
There are a number of points of interest that you will want to check out whenever you visit the villa in order to really take advantage of all that it has to offer!
The Shrines
Immediately to your right, when you enter the villa will be a small red shrine where you are able to invest your Virtue, and to your left when you walk in will be a shrine you can pray and adjust your inventory at.
To really get the most out of your home, as soon as you can, invest your Virue into improving things around your villa such as your garden, dog houses, and such. This will help bring in money and resources fast.
The Chicken Coop
The Chicken Coop will provide you with a steady supply of fresh eggs that can be used in recipes or deliveries. You can increase the speed in which the chickens produce eggs by spending virtue to upgrade the coop from the shrine at the entrance!
Dog and Cat Houses
Nestled between the Jinzo statue shrine and the chicken coop, you will find the dog house. While empty at first, as you progress through Ishin, you will find dogs and cats to adopt and rescue. By investing in improving the dog house with your virtue, your furry canine friends will find you better items when you treat them well. Inside the villa, you will find your cat house which serves a similar purpose.
To properly take care of them, when you go up to the dogs, Ryoma will ask them how they are doing, and depending on what he says, respond accordingly for the best results. Interacting with your pets will also net you some Virtue!
- Ryoma says: Did you get some playtime?
- Respond with: Pet them
- Ryoma says: Are you hungry?
- Respond with: Want to play?
- Ryoma says: Did somebody feed you?
- Respond with: Play with them
- Ryoma says: Did you get some attention?
- Respond with: Pet them
- Ryoma says: Are you tired?
- Respond with: Feed them
- Ryoma says: You're in a good mood
- Respond with: Play with them
- Ryoma says: You're in a very good mood
- Respond with: Play with them
- Ryoma says: Are you upset about something?
- Respond with: Pet them
The Garden
The garden is a great place to make some easy money, and will also be required to fulfill orders and cook (more on this in a bit). One of your first priorities once you unlock your villa is to spend some virtue to expand your growing space with the Farm Expansion options, the growing speed with the Farm option, and protecting your crops with Scarecrows.
You unlock additional crops to grow by purchasing the Green Thumb selections from the shrine as well! For a more in-depth guide on tending the garden, check out our Garden guide!
Inside the house
While you can tend to your garden and pet your dogs outside, there are even more activities to do when you go inside your new house too!
Resting
You have available to you three different avenues to heal up and regain your life, including the bed, the den with the stove, and the bath in the back. Each will have associated scenes with Haruka. The primary purpose of them all though is to get you back to tip-top shape.
Cooking
Another one of the main minigames found at the villa is the cooking game found by interacting at the stove. You will be able to expand the number of recipes you can prepare at the stove by purchasing the Typical Kitchen, Home Cook, and True Chef Kitchen upgrades by spending virtue at the shrine.
For a more thorough breakdown of cooking, check out our cooking guide!
Fulfilling Orders
In the back corner of the house, you will find a cabinet where you can fulfill orders people have submitted, requesting various items for delivery. By supplying the fish, meals, vegetables, and more that are requested, you will send out Haruka to deliver the items and return with a reward. These rewards can include items, money, or both!
The villa serves as a great way to escape from the hectic life of being a Shinsengumi, but you will have to go back eventually. When that happens, use our guides to help you on your way!
