Security Contracts
This page will detail the various Security Contracts available to partake in as part of 'The Contract' DLC for GTA Online. This guide will break down the various activities, provide various tips and tricks to help complete them and the rewards available for doing so.
What Are the Security Contracts And How To Complete Them
Security Contracts are unique missions available by logging in to the Agency computer in your office. There are six types of missions, all with varying specifications and payments. While the financial reward is worth considering when picking the mission, the "Level", which seems to pertain to the difficulty, shouldn't be too much of a concern for you. There are essentially no fail states during these missions, you are not penalized or sent back to the beginning upon death, so you can take as many tries as you need to get the job done! Completing a certain number of Security Contracts opens up other jobs that you can partake in:
- 2 Security Contracts Completed - VIP Contract becomes available, along with the continuation of 'The Contract' storyline.
- 4 Security Contracts Completed - Payphone Hits become available.
Below you will find a breakdown of what each mission generally entails. Each mission rewards a varying sum, visible on the Contracts screen. The money tends to range between $35,000 - $65,000 depending on the severity of the job.
Recover Valuables
This section breaks down the general structure of the mission 'Recover Valuables'. Whilst this is repeatable and can vary on specifics, below is an example of what you can expect. Upon selecting the contract, you'll need to leave the Agency building. You'll then receive a call from Franklin, and a waypoint on your map. Head there and you'll need to enter the building/premises. Expect heavy resistance, come prepared for a firefight, and ensure you keep a sturdy vehicle close to the entrance of the building!
Upon entering, you'll need to track down a safe combination, more often than not written on a post-it note, though don't worry it won't be hard to find. Once found, you'll need to head to the safe marked on the mini-map and open it up to retrieve the valuables. Rush out of the building and get back to your vehicle. Race back to the Agency building, avoiding your pursuers as much as possible, and upon entering the building you'll get a brief cutscene with Franklin thanking you, and mission complete!
Gang Termination
Gang Termination is exactly what it sounds like. After accepting the contract, leave the building and answer the call from Franklin. Head to the location marked on the mini-map and you'll need to seek out and kill the leaders of that specific gang. Until you do so, enemies will continue to spawn and drive into the location, so waste as little ammo as possible on the grunts, and focus on finding the captains. It is recommended for you to purchase body armor prior to arriving on location, though again, you are not penalized for dying so don't worry too much! After killing the prescribed amount of captains, leave the area and the mission is complete!
Vehicle Recovery
Vehicle Recovery is similarly self-explanatory. After accepting the contract, leaving the building, and talking to Franklin on the phone, head to the waypoint on the mini-map. This will require infiltrating the location and eliminating all the enemies within. You will need to seek out a specific vehicle within that location, ensure you can escape (as seen with opening the hangar doors at LSIA in the screenshot below), and then return the vehicle to the Agency whilst evading your pursuers.
Rescue Operation
Rescue Operation has you doing a bit of good in Los Santos. Again, exiting the Agency and talking to Franklin on the phone will give you a waypoint. Once there, you will be given a search area. Look around for smoke, gunfire, or blood trails to lead you to the client. They will be guarded by several hostiles so take them out ASAP. Once clear, get the client in your vehicle and escort them back to a safe location (this may not necessarily be the Agency building specifically).
Asset Protection
Asset Protection begins the same way as all other Security Contracts; Accepting the mission, leaving the Agency, and talking with Franklin. Heading to the location as fast as possible is key with this mission, however, as a time limit is in place. The time limit is less a restriction on how long you have to do something before, but instead, it's more of a survival gauntlet. Once at the destination, you must protect the assets, denoted as the green boxes on the minimap in the image below, and prevent enemies from molotoving, and subsequently destroying, those goods. Keep at least one asset intact by the time the clock hits zero and you'll pass. NOTE: You are evaluated on how many assets you protect, so the more intact assets, the better the payout for the mission will be.
Liquidize Assets
After accepting the mission, leaving the Agency, and calling Franklin, you'll need to head to the waypoint where you'll be tasked with tracking another vehicle whilst evading detection. Keep your distance and it'll arrive at a concealed warehouse location. Once you enter, you'll need to destroy all the contraband whilst dealing with any and all enemies. Once clear, you'll need to plant satchel charges (provided for the mission) in specific locations (see the third image below) and then get out as quickly as possible. Upon leaving, you'll have a three-star wanted level. Lose it, and then the mission will be complete!
