Boxed Up
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Ashley
- Passing Score With All: 20
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to avoid getting grabbed by Wario's giant hands while trapped in a box. The hands will come at you slowly from the left or right, and you need to get out of their path by ducking below or going above. You can see exactly where they are coming from based on where the fingers are at the edge of the screen. Flying characters can do this easily avoid the hands, while grounded characters need to land on top of the forearms to get out of the way, sometimes using the gold hoops to navigate.
Pipe Maze
- Best Fit Character: 5-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to identify and enter the correct pipe to reach a diamond on the other side. There are multiple pipes to choose from, and their paths cross in an attempt to confuse you. The best strategy is to simply look and see where the diamond is, follow the pipe's path backward, then jump into that pipe's entrance. Pause buffering can offer you some extra time to think in this game.
Where Goes the Nose?
- Best Fit Character: 18-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 30
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to find Wario's missing nose. The nose (you're always looking for the pink one with the zig-zagging mustache) will appear somewhere on the screen, occasionally hiding behind a piece of the environment. You need to fly/jump into or shoot the nose to select it. Occasionally you will need to break the object the nose is hiding behind to reach it.
Inside the Storm
- Best Fit Character: 5-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to navigate a raging storm to reach a door on the other side of the screen. You will be battling against not only the wind but also a giant Wario who is spitting obstacles at you. For most characters this mini-game is very simple, they can just run or fly directly across the screen and into the door regardless of the minor obstacles in the way. Grounded characters need to use the gold hoops to get across the screen, adding extra steps to the process.
Answer Me!
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to use a set of colored buttons to answer a simple trivia question. The question appears at the top of the screen (ex: "which one runs on land), then you interact with the button that corresponds to the correct answer (ex: "the car"). The questions get more complex as the levels progress sometimes requiring you to press multiple buttons. The final level will ask you a question about an external factor, like your number of lives or round number. You can pause buffer to get a little extra time to look and think in this mini-game.
Gifted
- Best Fit Character: Orbulon
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to untie a present by pulling on the ribbon tying it shut. You can pull on the ribbon by flying or jumping into it, then moving away after it attaches to your character's body. Grounded characters like 18-Volt and Pyoro need to be a little more careful, using their attacks to strike the ribbon until it comes loose.
Piggy Pluck
- Best Fit Character: Orbulon, 5-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 20
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to push a special object out of a piggy bank full of buttons. You can do this by getting under the object and flying/jumping up, but it's not as simple as it looks. The objects change shape as the levels progress and they love to spin and fall back to the ground, so pick your angle carefully when you make your attempt to lift it up!
Muscle Out
- Best Fit Character: 5-Volt, Orbulon
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to knock over a series of muscular statues. The simplest way to do this is via a domino effect: tip over the statue at the far end, and let it fall into the rest. This is a simple task for most flying/jumping characters but grounded characters like Pyoro need to take a different approach and try to knock the statues down in smaller batches of one to two.
Cheeky Beaker
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: 5-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to transfer a number of objects from a platform into nearby beaker to raise the water level. This can be done by jumping into the platform, which will fling the items into the air. The items are relatively floaty, so as long as you spam your jump or attack most of the items will simply soar right into the beaker.
Note-Able Art
- Best Fit Character: 18-Volt, Mike, Penny
- Passing Score With All: 30
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to remove a number of post-it notes from a chalkboard. Projectile characters can clear this game easily by just spamming their attack to rapidly remove the notes, and flying or jumping characters can do the same by simply interacting with the notes with pretty much any kind of movement. The same goes for grounded characters like Pyoro, who can win by just spamming his tongue attack in the range of the notes.
Pop Goes the Party
- Best Fit Character: Ashley
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to activate a party popper by pulling the string tightly around some pins. The string starts attached to your character's body, so all you need to do is route it around the pins until it pops. In some of the levels, your path will be blocked by some cracked pins, which you will need to break to make a way around. Just make sure you don't break too many of the pins, or else you may not have enough objects to wrap the string around.
Ro-sham-bo
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to win a game of rock-paper-scissors by selecting the correct option from a spinning wheel. You can see your opponent's choice as they fly from the background to the foreground, giving you about 5 seconds to make your choice before they arrive. In the later levels your opponent's choice may be obscured slightly, so feel free to pause buffer if you need a little extra time to think. Once you know what choice you need, strike the wheel to spin it until it lands on the correct option.
Stop Thief!
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 20
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to stop a thief by dropping the floor out under them as they run over a manhole. Identify the thief (they seem to ALWAYS be the person wearing sunglasses) then simply wait until they stop on top of the manhole. Once they are on it, strike the bottom or top of the manhole to spin it, causing them to fall into the sewer below.
Pushed to the Edge
- Best Fit Character: Orbulon
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: IN this mini-game, you need to knock an opposing paper wrestler off a platform so that only Wario remains. You can do this by striking the ground below the wrestler, or by just pushing the paper wrestler off the platform directly. For most characters, it is easier (or required, in the case of grounded characters) to just strike the bottom of the platform, but characters like Orbulon or Red need to fly around and push the wrestler off with their abilities.
Garlic Catch
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to tip a basket so that it catches three garlic inside of it. You can complete this task by lightly bumping the side of the basket, either with a projectile or by flying/jumping into it. But don't overdo it! If you push the basket too hard it will go sort of perpendicular and not catch any garlic, or possibly just fling the garlic away without catching it.
Get Away, Ghost!
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to pop a ghost balloon trailing around behind you by leading it into spikes. Flying and jumping characters simply need to look for a nearby spike wall then fly/walk over to it and run the ghost into it (make sure to orient yourself properly so that you don't accidentally touch the spikes first). Grounded characters will need to use the gold hoops, which also make things pretty easy as they will guide the ghost into the spikes for you.
What a Haul!
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Orbulon
- Passing Score With All: 30
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to push a valuable object onto a truck waiting at the bottom of the screen. There are platforms (some breakable) on the screen blocking the object's path, so you need to either push it around these or smash them to allow it to fall. For most characters, the solution here is just to break the platforms and let the object fall to the bottom, then push it left or right until it reaches the truck. 18-Volt will need to do this same thing, but with his projectile.
Fall for You
- Best Fit Character: 5-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 30
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to avoid getting crushed by a falling pillar by getting inside the small nook in the side of it. Flying/jumping characters have the easiest time with this, as they can simply fly in to the nook before the pillar even falls. Grounded characters will need to determine where the nook will land on the ground and stand in that space, or use one of the gold hoops.
Bug Out
- Best Fit Character: 18-Volt
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to eliminate some bugs hiding behind a brick wall. Projectile characters have the easiest time with this, they just need to determine where the bugs are hiding (you can see them pretty easily through the cracks in the wall) then shoot them before the timer runs out. Melee and ramming characters will have to move toward the bugs and strike them directly.
Mystifying Mirror
- Best Fit Character: Kat & Ana
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to grab a key then take it to a door, all while only being able to an upside-down reflection of the room. The task here is incredibly simple, just grab the key and move to the door, but if you let yourself get confused by the reflection it can become a challenge. Your best bet is to simply memorize the layout of the room and try to navigate it mentally rather than relying on the mirror view. You can even see a little bit of the bottom of the "real" screen, so use that to your advantage. Grounded characters face the extra challenge of needing to use the gold hoops.
Same but Different
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to change the details of one room so it matches the one on the left. This usually means shooing away a bug, changing the orientation of a painting, or moving an object on a platform. You can move/change the objects by interacting with them in any way (shoot/ram/jump), so the real challenge here is just matching the details within the time limit.
Flammable Goods
- Best Fit Character: Penny
- Passing Score With All: 20
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to stop a trail of burning paper to protect a piece of art. To complete the mini-game, simply disrupt the chain of paper to stop the flames from passing between them. You can do this by shooting the paper, flying into it, striking, jumping, etc, etc. Just be sure not to hit the paper TOO aggressively or wildly, because you might end up flinging one of the burning pieces across the room and onto the art.
Unlock Me
- Best Fit Character: Mike, Orbulon
- Passing Score With All: 15
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to unlock a combo lock by matching it to a provided combination. Strike the numbers on their tops or bottoms to switch them, or jump/fly into them as well. You can pause buffer if you need a little extra time to think, but for the most part, you just want to go down the line matching the numbers as you go, as quickly as you can.
Caution: Slippery
- Best Fit Character: Mike
- Passing Score With All: 25
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to help Wario land on his feet by spinning him until he is facing up. You can spin Wario when he is in the air by striking/shooting/ramming his limbs, and you will know he is correcting oriented when his face goes from a grimace to a smile. Wario's extended limbs offer the most leverage, so try to focus your movements on them.
Potty Pursuit (Boss Stage)
advertisement
- Best Fit Character: Wario, Ashley
- Passing Score With All: 5
- Strategy: In this mini-game, you need to pursue a toilet into a volcano, passing thru a number of obstacles until you eventually capture it. The first half of this game involves navigating a short maze through the volcano. You will need to pass through some thin tunnels on your way to the end, and avoid large boulders that try to block your path (more of them appear in the later levels, but they can be destroyed with attacks). In the final level, there will even be boulders that you have to spin to create a path forward. Thankfully the timer on this area is very long, so you don't have to rush to much to get to the end. The second half of this mini-game takes place in the volcano's core, where you will need to dodge a series of boulders and lava splashes. There is a warning sign letting you know where the boulders are coming from, so simply step out of the way when you see the signs. Finally, you will be instructed to capture the toilet. Continue dodging the boulders, then as soon as you see the toilet pop out of the volcano move immediately to grab it!
