Clawswipe Colosseum
Welcome to IGN's Walkthrough for Super Mario 3D World: Bowser's Fury. This page contains information on how to get each Cat Shine in Clawswipe Colosseum.
Clawswipe Colosseum is one of the second set of islands you can visit in Bowser's Fury after getting enough Cat Shines to defeat Fury Bowser for the first time. It will change its appearance and enemies slightly after each shine is collected, so you may need to leave to the nearby Giga Bell and return to see the changes appear.
Getting at least one Cat Shine from Clawswipe Colosseum will unlock a nearby Lake Lapcat Cat Shine - Ruins Rabbit Plays Tag.

Clawswipe Colosseum - Clash with Cat Boom Boom
You can find this Cat Shine inside the large arena that makes up most of the island in this area. However, getting in easily is not readily apparent.
Look for a small half-sunken open window along the right side of the Colosseum to find a way to swim inside, and reach the main platform where the battle will begin.
If you’re familiar with fighting Boom Boom in the main Mario 3D World game, this shouldn’t be too surprising: Boom Boom will extend his arms and spin around like a top while seeking you out. You can either jump on him during this period - or if you have projectile power ups, hit him repeatedly until he is stunned.
After he retreats into his shell and bounces around for a bit, he’ll return to his spinning form but become invisible. He’s still vulnerable if you can spot him - otherwise just wait and he’ll make himself dizzy, leaving him open to attack.
Hit him on the head three times, and the Cat Shine will be yours!
Clawswipe Colosseum - Cat Pom Pom’s Counterattack
Once you leave the Colosseum and return after defeating Boom Boom, you’ll find the tower a bit bigger in height, and the entrance to the arena above ground through a window.

Head around to the back of the Colosseum to find platforms with large?? blocks that when ground pounded will extend to help you get up to the height you need to enter the arena.
The fight against Pom Pom is like the one you’ll encounter in the main 3D World game: She’ll disappear in a smoke trail that splits up before reappearing with a few clones. Look for the more vibrantly colored Pom Pom - that’s the real one you need to hit.
Each time she’s damage, she’ll disappear again only to appear with more clones, so be ready to react by standing in the center of their appearing act to defeat her before she and her clones and fight back. Once she’s been hit 3 times, the Cat Shine will be yours.
Clawswipe Colosseum - Final Bout with Cat Boom Boom
Once you leave the Colosseum and return after defeating Pom Pom, you’ll find the tower a bit bigger in height, and the entrance to the arena even farther up than where it was last.
Like before, go around the back to find large blocks to ground pound to lift yourself up to the level the opening is on. However this time, you’ll find the entrance blocked up, but on a level below there is a box dispensing bob-ombs. Grab one and toss it at the nearby blocks to create a stairway up to the blocked door, then quickly grab another bob-omb to unseal the door to the arena.
This final fight with Boom Boom is a bit different - but only because he’s lined the arena with spike traps! They’ll appear in columns moving from right to left, so take careful note as they progress around the arena to both jump on Boom Boom’s head, and avoid the incoming spike traps.

The good news is that once he retreats into his shell, the spikes jutting up can stop him from bouncing around. The bad news is that each time he’s hit, he’ll summon an additional shell to keep bouncing as he comes at you to attack. Use the Tanooki suit to help you levitate over the spikes, or use an offensive suit to damage him from a distance until you knock him down 3 times, and the Cat Shine is yours.
Clawswipe Colosseum - Five Cat Shine Shards
This Cat Shine can be obtained at any point while exploring Clawswipe Colosseum, but you need to get the first two Cat Shines to extend the Colosseum to its maximum height and reveal all the shards to find this Shine.
The first shard is located at the base of the outer arena wall on the left as you enter through the archway - but only when the island is fully extended
The second shard can be found in the inner arena area, along the north side you can climb up using Cat Mario. Once you reach the second platform with a graffiti symbol, climb up into one of the windows above to locate the shard..
Another shard is also found in the inner arena, at the back of the arena platform where you fight Boom Boom and Pom Pom, in an alcove under the main arena itself.
You can find a shard at the very top of the Colosseum, along the south side of the rim where some of the stone rampart has chipped, overlooking the Ruins Giga Bell below.

The final shard can be found hovering atop the middle of the Colosseum, but you can’t just float over to it. Look on the east side of the ramparts for a large spring you can climb and pull back to send yourself flying over the arena pit, and you’ll hit the shard as you jump across.
Clawswipe Colosseum - Blast the Fury Blocks
This Cat Shine can be obtained at any point as you explore Clawswipe Colosseum, but you will need the help of Fury Bowser to actually unlock it.
Take Plessie and search the perimeter of the coliseums walls to find a window with broken bars sealed up with Fury Blocks on the northwest side, and wait for Bowser to come knocking. There’s not much room to hide from his blasts, so you may need to eat the damage and then quickly grab the Cat Shine before he can strike again.
