Where to Get Masquerade Clothes
Dragon’s Dogma 2 forces you to follow a dress code if you want to attend the masquerade parties in Vernworth’s noble quarter as part of a main quest called The Stolen Throne. You can’t just show up to those events dressed as a knight, mage, or assassin, so this guide will show you how to get masquerade clothes to blend in with the royals in Dragon's Dogma 2.
Where to Find Courtly Clothes
Thankfully, there are several ways to get your hands on the appropriate masquerade clothing, and you won’t have to leave Vernworth to find them. Both the upper and lower body pieces for the Courtly Clothes set can be found in several chests inside the noble quarter of Vernworth. One place to find them is Allard's Estate.

There is also a set of Courtly Clothes inside a chest in the back of the masquerade building itself. You aren’t allowed to enter the building at night without the proper attire, but you can simply walk inside and explore during the daytime. Enter and take one of the hallways to the left or the right that leads to the rooms behind the ballroom.
Once you have the Courtly Clothes, all you need is a mask for the masquerade. Brant gives you a mask for free right after he explains The Stolen Throne quest, asking you to infiltrate the masquerade to learn more about the false Sovren.
Courtly Clothes can also be found inside many chests in the main castle where the royal family stays. One such chest is sitting inside Sven’s room – another spot you’ll enter for a separate noble quarter quest. You’ll likely find these chests on your own if you decide to wander around the castle during the daytime.
The worst option for obtaining masquerade clothes is buying them. Philbert’s Sundries – the general store next the the armor and weapon vendors – sells Courtly Clothes at ridiculous prices. Don’t waste your time or gold on those offers. There are too many ways to get what you need for free.
When you’re ready to attend the masquerade, put on the fancy clothes and mask to gain entry to the party. The event starts around midnight, so if you’re ever wondering why the place is empty, it might be too early in the evening. See How to Tell Time.
