Heritage Gun Quest - Super Shifty
This page contains information on how to find and obtain a Legendary Weapon, as part of the Arsenal Lead - Super Shifty. Completing this lead will earn you the Heritage Gun, a legendary transforming firearm that switches between a mid-range rifle and a short-range shotgun.
How to Trigger the Arsenal Lead

This quest can only be undertaken in the Karl's Bay District of Blackreef, and only during the Evening when the fireworks show begins to start. After exiting the tunnels and stepping onto the main street, you can find two Eternalists warily trying to open a box that explodes and kills them both, before Charlie's voice rings out to alert you to another game called Reward Scheme.
Locate the Prize Box Locations - Fathoms of Lament Map
First thing's first - make your way down the road to the large spooky decorated buildings with the Fathoms of Lament adorning the top. Be warned, there are several Eternalists milling around both inside and out of the place, so approach carefully, but you'll want to kill them all now rather than later.
Inside, you'll find a large map of Karl's Bay next to a Legendary Shotgun sealed in a case. This map will have glowing dots all over the area. The ones that are blue (like the area with the two Eternalists who blew up) will be glowing blue, while the other ones that have not been opened will not be colored in yet.
Important: The locations of the prize boxes - as well as which ones have already been opened - can change for each player's Loop (excluding the three blue spots with already opened boxes), so you may not have to go to all the same spots as someone else, or even every loop after. For the purpose of this walkthrough, all potential spots will be shown.
Each spot will have a box with a rapidly ticking series of icons on the side. When the box is opened, they will stop - and if they read out skulls, the box will explode and may just kill you. Each box can also give you a trinket or a gun - but like the possible locations, the contents are randomized, so it is best that you run away some distance after opening and then see if it explodes. Using the map above, consult the number for solutions on how to get to each box safely - as many of them are lined with different traps or puzzles.
1 - Crashed Plane
This box can be found out on the water - the same location two Eternalists planned to loot the plane earlier in the day, and while the plane has partially sunk into the ice, there's still a path over to it along the cliffs.
Be aware that there are three Eternalists milling around the box, and should be killed before you try to open the box.

2 - Alleyway
You can find this box in the alley behind the main street closest to the tunnel entrance, between where the Eternalists planned to hijack Wenjie's equipment and the big mask building on the lower road.
Approach this box with caution, as there is an ambush in the form of several Eternalists on rooftops on both sides of the small alley, waiting to attack anyone who comes near the box.
3 - Gardens of Perception Entrance
This box can be found by going left up the main street from the tunnel entrance, but is guarded by a group of turrets placed all around the box, just in front of the giant sign for the Gardens of Perception.
An easier way to get past them is either to stick to the tops of the fences and hack them, or use the nearby rooftops for vantage and snipe their battery packs to destroy them all.
4 - Gardens of Perception Exit
Just past the previous marker, on the other side of the Gardens of Perception sign, there is a group of Eternalists milling around a road leading to a closed gate over a bridge. One of them making snow angels is right next to the box you need to open.
Consider taking out the enemy Eternalists before getting close to the box to open it, in case it is a bomb.

5 - Harbor Row
On the far upper northwest side of Karl's Bay is a row of houses leading to a boatsman's house and two small footbridges. Against one of the walls here is a box guarded by several Eternalists, including a sniper on a high perch.
Advance on this box cautiously from the cliffs above to snipe the sniper, then take out his friends before opening the box.
6 - Den of Reason Bar
On the middle main road past the Fathoms of Lament building is a green-colored jungle-themed bar called the Den of Reason. All of the doors will be barred from the inside, so move around to the back entrance and jump through a high window to get in.
There may or may not be a timer when you first enter, and so you may have to be quick in solving this puzzle: A locked door has several clues painted on the walls, but seeing them clearly is a matter of perspective. Move around the bar to try and line up the different murals of the locks - the dash in the middle colored orange is the order of the code: 1234, while the part of the circle colored orange around the ring is the number you'll need to hit.
The location, perspectives, order, and numbers for this code may change between loops!
To make things easier, either pause the game to scribble a note for yourself, or memorize the location of the orange part of the circle rather than what its number association is (for example, the first number is the top middle, the second number is middle right, the third number is the bottom middle, and the fourth number is bottom left).
Find them all and unlock the first-floor door to find the box in a storeroom.

7 - Hangar 1 Plane
This is one of two planes outside the two giants hangars that can possibly have a box at this location. The one outside the back of Hangar 1 will be on the wing, but will also be crawling with Eternalists.
To make matters worse, there will be explosive canisters around the plane, so be careful when getting into a firefight - or try to silently kill or lure them away from the plane before opening the box.
8 - Hangar 2 Plane
This is one of the two planes outside the two giant hangars that can possibly have a box at this location. The one outside the back of Hangar 2 will be on top of the plane, but surrounded by a ring of turrets.
An easy way to get around them is to go into Hangar one and jump through a ceiling window onto the top of the hangar, then double jump across or Shift to the top of Hangar 2. From this location, you should be able to hack most of the turrets to your side, and then drop down to finish the rest before getting the box.
9 - Hangar 2
A box can be found in Hangar 2, the same area that Harriet gave her sermon earlier in the day, and you can reach it by taking the annexed walkway from the top floor of Hangar 1. Unfortunately, it's still full of gas that has completely covered the bottom floor of the hangar.
There are several switches placed around the hangar, and you must throw them on in a certain order to unlock the box. You will only have 45 seconds to complete this, so be sure to pace yourself but sprint or shift when possible - and you'll need to both listen and look for the glowing and beeping of the next lever to pull.

10 - Hangar Alley
You can sometimes find a box in the alleyway between Hangar 1 and Hangar 2, and while there are no Eternalists here, there are traps to watch out for.
Advance carefully and listen for the telltale sounds of mine beeping as you slowly get close to the box, disarming any mines you come across. Be sure to look at both the ground and the walls to catch any stray mines before reaching the box - and be sure to have a path to run away from if the box is also mined.
11 - Hangar 1
A box can sometimes be found in Hangar 1 on the north end of Karl's Bay, only the giant hangar doors will be almost closed, requiring you to carefully hop over them to find dozen of laser tripwire mines all around the box in the center.
Move extremely carefully around the laser and disable any you can safely until you reach the center - and be sure to have an escape route planned if the box is going to blow up.
12 - Docked Plane
On the far north edge of the boardwalks by Hangar 2 is an old large rusted plane docked in the water, where several Eternalists are enjoying the sight of the fireworks at night.
The box has been placed near the middle of the plan, so you'll need to go through the Eternalists to get to it - just don't fall in the water!
Return to the Fathoms of Lament
advertisement
Once all the boxes that have appeared in your Loop have been opened, you'll get an automated radio message from Charlie, bidding you to come back to the Fathoms of Lament building to collect a final prize.
Just past the large map of Karl's Bay, there's a newly opened door going into the rest of the warehouse.
As you move further in, you'll be hit by a field nullifier that will stop you from using Slab powers like Shift to help you in this last test of skill. If you look for a stack of wooden boards, kick them down to reveal a crack in the wall that reveals the nullifier, and shoot it to disable it.
Nearby, you'll find a lever that will start a timed 45-second countdown for a series of other levers similar to the puzzle in Hangar 2. Unlike the other puzzle, there are several moving lasers you'll need to dodge or the test will stop and you'll be forced to restart.
Fortunately, you can replay this puzzle as many times as you want, and with the nullifier gone you can use Shift to zip past some of the lasers - or use Aether to walk through them - or otherwise plan out an optimal path to jump up between floors or drop down to find the quickest route between the next lever. Note that some laser positions may change between lever pulls - like the ones above and below desks you can hurdle over or crouch slide under quickly.
If you manage to complete this test, return back to the Fathoms of Lament map, and the Heritage Gun will be yours to claim. This Legendary gun can alternate between spread-out slugs or concise shots, and will usually have an added random bonus that compliments these methods of fire. Be warned - it costs 9,000 Residium to infuse, so be sure you've accumulated a bunch through the day so you can keep it!
