Covenants

Various pacts with powerful NPCs - known as Covenants in Dark Souls - may bestow your character with different abilities, powers, or items.

The various Covenants of the game work in different ways - and depending how you follow 'the rules' of a Covenant will affect your status in that particular group and change your online experience.

You may also have to meet some prerequisites to join certain Covenants.

Each Covenant has designated levels which can be upgraded through following the rules laid down by that Covenant.

Covenants also tie directly into Sin and Absolution, two statuses that can affect the online experience of Dark Souls.?
