Better Call Saul Guide
Better Call Saul is an American dramatic/comedy series currently in development by AMC Networks. Originally slated to air it's premier episode in November of 2014, the network has moved the series' debut to early 2015 instead. The first season will consist of ten episodes, while the already-greenlit second season will have 13.
The series focuses on the titular Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk), fomerly a supporting character in the other AMC series Breaking Bad, as he winds his way through the ethical grey areas of the american legal system.
Everything We Know (So Far)
Plot
According to a press release from AMC, Saul will be set six year prior to the events of Breaking Bad (around 2002). The story will focus on James "Jimmy" McGill - better known in Breaking Bad as Saul Goodman - as "a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet... The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts 'criminal' in 'criminal lawyer'. The series’ tone is dramatic, woven through with dark humor."
We can assume, based on casting announcements, that at some point Jimmy / Saul will encounter the fan-favorite private detective Mike Ehrmantraut on his road to becoming the Albuquerque's Sultan of Sub-Standard Legal Practices.
Cast
Bob Odenkirk is set to reprise his Breaking Bad role of Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill.
Jonathan Banks will once again step into the shoes of the gravelly-voiced Mike Ehrmantraut.
Michael McKean (A Mighty Wind, Clue) has been cast as Jimmy's brother, Chuck.
Michael Mando (Orphan Black, Far Cry 3) will play a character called "Nacho".
Rhea Seehorn (The Shaggy Dog) will play a woman named Kim.
Patrick Fabian (Atlas Shrugged 2) will play someone called Hamlin.
