Easter Eggs and References
This page contains information of the Easter Eggs found throughout Batman: Arkham Knight. More information will be added to this page as it is uncovered.
Man Bat's Halloween Easter Egg
This Easter Egg is a special timed secret - appearing only when you play the game on Halloween. If you'd like to see it anyway, simply set the console or PC's internal clock to October 31st, and start up the game. After you have completed the Creature of the Night side quest in Gotham's Most Wanted, start using the grapnel boost off of large buildings (most of the ones in Miagani Island will suffice) and you'll be surprised by the re-appearance of a previously defeated villain. You can head back to the GCPD to find out about what happened to the villain's containment as well.

Ace: The Bat-Hound
This Easter Egg is found on Wayne's Tower in Bruce Wayne's Office, next to a couch near the door. you can only find Bat-Hound's plate. Ace made his first appareance in June 1955 in Batman #92.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family Easter Eggs
Starro The Conqueror
In the DLC, head to the right side of the Oil Tank/Amusement Park, and look for a small vent near the walkways connecting the two parts of the park. Travel through the small wall vent to find a large room with two tanks, one of which hold an extremely disturbing starfish with a giant eye.
This starfish is actually a reference to Starro, an alien supervillain who looks much like a starfish. "Starro the Conqueror" debuted in The Brave and the Bold #28 (1960) which was first appearance of the Justice League of America.

This, along with numerous other DC Superhero references in Arkham Knight, furthers speculation on either Rocksteady's or Warner Brothers Montreal's next game.
The Joker's Balloon Float
Hovering above the Big Top on the Oil Rig is a very unique looking clown balloon. The style of the face, nose and hair on the balloon are strikingly similar to that of the Joker-toxin filled balloon float used in the 1989 Batman film, directed by Tim Burton.
Superman References
Superman has been one of Batman's best allies and greatest foes throughout his career as the "World's Greatest Detective." In Arkham Knight, many in-game items refer to the line between the Man of Steel and the Dark Knight.
Wayne Tower Voicemail
Listen to Bruce's answering machine in Wayne Tower to hear several messages from Lex Luthor, who is interested in purchasing the Applied Sciences division of Wayne Enterprises - apparently Bruce has been avoiding his calls.
LexCorp Billboards
advertisement
Scattered all over Gotham are billboards for the mega-corporation that serves as the main infrastructure for Clark Kent's nemesis Lex Luthor.
The Man of Steel
Several thugs can be heard lamenting the state of Gotham, adding that all it needs now is for a certain caped freak to come flying in.
Joker Hallucinations Changing Gotham
Early on in the game you are melded with the blood of the Joker, as a result Batman slowly starts to lose his mind, one of the exciting side effects is that posters and architecture begins to change with Jokers face everywhere, see the before and after.
Other Batman Villain Cameos
The city of Gotham is full of criminals to be caught, but a few notable villains only make brief appearences
Victor Zsasz
The crazed serial killer is back again in Arkham Knight, but this time he's learned from getting beat by Batman in previous games, and can only be found when rewinding CCTV footage shortly after escaping Ace Chemicals. When reviewing footage outside the Clock Tower, scrub the footage all the way to the end and look in the top left corner as Zsasz lurks into frame. While you can't find or fight him in person, he has left behind his signature murder scene in the form of a riddle on Founders' Island.

Calendar Man
Another serial killer with a fascination for holidays can be found hiding at the end of the game. Once you have beaten the game and view the Knightfall Protocol, look for the scene with the large crowd of reporters. As the crowd hurries forward, you can spot a bald man with very distinct markings around his skull - the trademark look of Julian Day, the Calendar Man. While you can't find or confront him in person during the game, you can find a hideout of his that is the solution to a Riddle on Founders' Island.
Bane
Bane doesn't personally appear in the game (so far) but his story and mask can be found in a shipping container as part of a Riddle.
Spoilers Ahead: During a Joker hallucination near the end of the game, one of Batman's takedown animations is breaking the Joker's back on his knee, not unlike how Bane did during the "Knightfall" comic book.
DC Universe References
Throughout the game, many of the thugs Batman encounters will discuss other cities and heroes in the DC universe, including Metropolis, Bludhaven, Keystone and Central City, there are also several buildings owned by other DC heroes and villains.
In the office rooms at the base of the Clocktower base Oracle works out of, a computer can be found with the logo Birds of Prey, along with her correspondence with The Huntress. The Birds of Prey is a superhero team formed by Barbara Gordon, Black Canary, and other superheroes.
In Bleake Island, you can find both a magic shop named after the superhero magician, Zatanna, as well as a music shop called Music Meisters - named after the musical villain. There's also a shop belonging to John Constantine of the Hellblazer series (and now-cancelled TV series).

Catwoman makes reference to having burgled Queen Industries, which is the large corporation owned by Oliver Queen - A.K.A. Green Arrow.
Inside the GCPD, a shift list bears the name of several officers, including notable detective Renee Montoya, Detective Bullock, and John Jones. The last name listed is a possible reference to the Martian Manhunter, whose alien name is J'onn J'onzz and who's cover identity on Earth was Detective John Jones.
There are several billboards advertising vacation packages to Santa Prisca, which is the home country of the villain Bane. Many Militia members can also be heard referencing the South American country.
Other thugs reference the fact that Gotham beats out Keystone because you can at least see Batman coming, unlike the originalSilver Age?Flash, Jay Garrick,?who hails from Keystone.
Once the story has progressed far enough, some of the Arkham Knight Militia can be overheard saying that Batman is worse than "that swamp creature in Louisiana."? This is a clear reference to Swamp Thing who primarirly lives in Louisiana in the comics.
To the right of the botanical gardens there is a sushi restaurant that is named after the Aquaman villain, Ocean Master. At the base of The Lady of Gotham, a cancelled fight poster can be seen between, the captured Albert "The Goliath" King and Ted "WILDCAT" Grant. Along with the Obvious Black Canary Bar on Bleake Island.?
At Poison Ivy's hideout, on the second level, there is a park bench dedicated to the late scientist Alec Holland, who was known for inventing a Bio-Restorative Formula. This formula ultimately turned Alec (or atleast his memories) into the character Swamp Thing.[1] The Royal Flush Gang, a regular gang of supervillains based around playing cards that have appeared many times to take on Batman and the Justice League, have a hangout near the GCPD. Or at least a club named after them. Mark Hamill's Joker famously joined them in the Justice League Animated Series episode 'Wild Cards'.

The Blackgate Riots
There are several references by thugs, police, and others to the "Blackgate Riots" which happen to be the events of Arkham Origins, including The Joker's debut and his two attacks on the prison facility.
GCPD Evidence Locker
When in the GCPD, Batman can view the Evidence Locker, which contains weapons and gear confiscated by villains throughout Batman's adventures in Arkham Origins, Arkham Asylum, and Arkham City - all of which have voice recordings from Aaron Cash.
You can find Talia's sword in the Evidence Locker, and inspecting it will cause Batman to have a private moment of reflection.
Any additional enemies apprehended during the course of Arkham Knight will see their weapons and items added to the Evidence Locker.
GCPD Lockup
During the course of the game, as Batman aprehends supervillains and thugs alike, the cells of the GCPD will begin to fill. During the main story, as well as the Gotham's Most Wanted side quests, thugs will begin appearing in their respective cells as a visual indicator of your cleaning up the streets of Gotham. As Gotham's Most wanted missions are completed, the supervillains you bring to justice will also be thrown behind bars.

The Ghost in Gray
In several areas of the game like Oracle's Clocktower and Panessa Studios, posters can be seen for The Gray Ghost. This is a reference to the Batman Animated Series episode "Beware the Gray Ghost", where Batman must solve a crime spree reminiscent of an old tv show, whose main hero (voiced by Adam West) operated much like Batman.
Metal Gear Solid Reference
In one of the death screens, Joker makes a reference to the famous "You Died" scenes where Colonel Roy Campbell screams "SNAAAAAAAKE!!!!" from the PSX hit?Metal Gear Solid.
Constantine
A reference to DC comics John Constantine can be found in the bottom portion of Founder's Island near where you encounter Professor Pyg.? A closed window shutter reveals the shop belongs to?John Constantine's Paranormal Investigation?business.
THE SECRET SIX
At the coordinates: 3572, 2896, near Wayne Tower, there is a clothing store called Secret 6. This is most likely a reference to the DC villain group The Secret Six. The members included: Parademon, Ragdoll II, Scandal, Deadshot, Cat-Man, and Cheshire. Other members have included Harley Quinn and the Mad Hatter. The group actually was so powerful they nearly defeated the Secret Society Of Super-Villains. But the group was eventually defeated and all member were thrown in prison. After the group's members were arrested the group disbanded.
