When I saw the cover for this game, Space Invaders with a splash of defender was not what I was expecting. King and balloon is fine I suppose.
But it doesn't have a lot to differentiate itself. If you like shooters, this isn't a bad one to try
A shoot em up with some cool ideas but is ultimately too greedy for its own good. There are sections where pixel perfect movement and perfect frame timing required to progress, and the difficulty overall ramps up insanely fast. This would be fine if any payoff existed, which there is not outside of score. Avoid.
It's a top down roaming shooter? There's virtually no skill to be gained here as the game is very basic. Has some gimicks but they get old very quickly
Easily one of the best NES games ever made. A perfect blend of several different genres ranging from action to strategy to RPG all done lightly enough to not feel overcomplicated but with enough there to not get too repetitive, which is a true testament to an NES games quality is the pure quality of the gameplay loop and its longevity. Godzilla has a lot to offer and is worth looking into even if the NES usually isn't for you
A step into the right direction for adventure gaming, though still cruel and highly flawed with prevents me from fully recommending it to the average gamer
While the Alpha series is fine, it's lacking in something I can't easily describe. It feels hollow and pointless. It feels like it adds nothing to the franchise at the end of the day and therefore isn't recommended
Am I missing something? because this game seems near impossible to win with how the AI behaves. If I'm just dumb I will change this review but as it stands this is a decently designed game that just has all the fun ripped out of it by greed.
This game does not deserve this amazing cover art.
While there isn't anything offensive about Cross Wiber, it really is so mediocre in every aspect and has such awful design decisions I Can't give it anything above a 4
Though it bears a lot of the grindy esoteric problems of its time in RPG's, Ys brings a level of presentation and quality that brings it one step above its peers. Its worth a try for RPG fans
