E3 Reveal Trailer
The Order 1886 was revealed during Sony's E3 2013 press conference with this trailer. ?While no gameplay is shown, the trailer is running in the engine used in the game. Not only does it show the Victorian London setting of the game, but also alludes to the fact that is takes place in an alternate history in which such technical advancements as airships exsited - when they did not in our timeline.
The member of the Order enters Whitechapel and their carriage driver is mysteriously murdered. ?The trailer goes on the show a cinematic fight between the Knights and the so called "Half Breeds", who The Order fight. The battle shows sillhouette versions of the Half Breed enemies and the advanced technology that The Order is using to fight them [1].
'The Pledge' Trailer
The second trailer released for The Order 1886 showed more information on the background of the Knights. ?First, a vial of balck water is spilled. ?Black water is the liquid that the members of the Order uses to heal themselves and extend their lives. ?The trailer then shows images that represent King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, a group that the Order is intimitely connected to. ?The black water then forms a stained glass window that shows an interpretation of the crusades. ?This suggests that the Order might have been present during the crusades. ?Finally, the trailer shows a London newspaper in 1886. ?The main headline in the paper is about the revolution taking place during the game. ?Another one talks about murder in Whitechapel. ?Even though the dates do not match up exactly, this could be a reference to Jack the Ripper, suggesting the he might make an appearance in the game. ?Finally, a partially cut-off headline references Nikola Tesla, a character that has since been confrimed to be in the game [2].
