Windfall Island: Pirate Ship
Windfall Island: The Pirate Ship
Items: Orca's Letter, Bombs, Beedle's Letter and Chart
Welcome back to Windfall Island. The nasty weather is wreaking havoc on this sleepy little town. It doesn't help that the pirate ship has anchored in the harbor near the Bomb Shop. You can try to enter the pirate ship, but since you don't have the password, this is a fruitless effort. Your objective then is to find a way to get the password -- and for that, the Bomb Shop is just the right place.
Climb up the cliff with the shop and go to the left side of the house. Press against the wall, then use the sidle command by pressing A. Make your way across the narrow ledge to the back of the house and climb up the vines that grow on the wall. You will find a small hole to crawl into. A familiar tune will play. Eavesdrop on the pirates to get the password. The actual password differs from game to game -- some choices include: Schooner, Barnacle, Chummily, Plankton, Swabbies, and Treasure.
Jump down from your hiding spot and exit the shop. Pay a visit to the mailbox to get a letter from Orca, reminding you to collect Knight's Crests.
Run up the path to the northeast and jump down to the deck of the pirate ship. Go to the door and enter the password.
Inside the ship, check out the captain's quarters for some interesting pictures on the wall. Go down the stairway for a timed challenge that will get you a nice reward.
Jump to the rope straight ahead of you, then steady it by holding R and turn toward the left, start swinging and hop to the next one. Using this technique, make it to the other side of the room within the time limit (you can reset the clock by stepping on the switch after you fall) and you will get your hands on the Bombs (30 of them).
Head back to the mailbox to get another letter, this time Beedle's Letter, which contains Beedle's Chart.
Before you leave, go to the top of the cliff near the Bomb Shop. If it's nighttime, you will see a dancing fellow, named Tott, dressed somewhat like The King (no, not of Hyrule -- Elvis). Show him your Wind Waker?and he will motion a song to you that's not required to finish the game, but very helpful. Play this song: right, left, down. You will now be able to use the Song of Passing to switch from day to night and vice versa.
Go back to your boat, change the wind to south or southwest, then head towards Outset Island, all the way at the bottom of the map. Feel free to stop at any island that interests you on this long trip.
