Outset Island: Jabun

You're back in your hometown. Be a good grandson and visit your Grandma first. But something's not right -- she doesn't recognize you. Go get advice from Sturgeon. He will tell you that your best bet is to catch a fairy from the well on top of the mountain. If you need some money, visit Orca downstairs and take him on in a 100-hit challenge. Don't forget to block! If you pass 100, you'll get 50 Rupees. ?If you keep challenging him, he will give you more and more rupees each time you beat him. ?And if you successfully beat all of his challenges... He will give you a piece of heart! ?While you're at it, show him the Knight's Crest. He will ask you to collect 10 of them, so keep that in mind, should the moment arrive.

Climb up the winding path to the top of the mountain and... Whoops, the bridge is gone. No problem. Change the direction of the wind to the west, make sure you have enough magic energy, then hop off the highest point (the rock platform) and float across to the other side. Continue through the forest until you get to a rock. Blow it up with a Bomb?and drop into the hole.

You have discovered your first Great Fairy Well. Step forward to receive an upgrade: the Large Wallet.

Catch one of the small fairies in your Bottle?and head back to your grandma's house. If you want to try out your new wallet and get some extra cash, float down to the roof of the large house at the foot of the hill and enter through the open window.

Go back to grandma, equip the Bottle, lock on and use the fairy. She will be cured on the spot and you will receive some of her healing Elixir Soup in return. This soup not only revitalizes Link's health, it actually allows him to cause twice the damage when his heart power is full. Not bad! And it's free. Step outside and go to the mailbox to get an advertisement for Beedle's special boat, which cruises the seas in the northwest of the map. Consult Beedle's Chart for details.

Go back to your boat and you will soon be sucked into a whirlpool.

Equip the Bombs and fire away at the large gate. You have a better chance at hitting when you're closer, so don't waste your ammo. There are three pieces that you need to blast in order to make the whirlpool stop. As soon as it's over, you will enter the cave and meet Lord Jabun.

Instead of a dungeon, you will receive Nayru's Pearl, the third artifact you need on your quest to break Ganon's curse. The King of Red Lions will mark three spots on your map that you have to now visit -- one for each pearl.
