Mirror Shield

A Zelda fan's favorite, the Mirror Shield also makes its triumphant return in Wind Waker. This time, you don't only use it to reflect light at mirrors, statues, or enemies, you actually use it quite often to relay beams of light from your controllable partner character around a corner or high up place.

• Trigger Switches: As in the past, the shield triggers sun switches. Whether they're in the eye of a large statue or high up on a wall, simply direct a beam at the sun switch to bring it to life. Some puzzles (such as the statue eyes) require both suns to be active at the same time, which you can only achieve with the help of your partner.
• Make Solid: See-through treasure chests or the Poe ghosts can be made solid by flooding them with light. The light moves them from the shadow realm into the real world after a few seconds of exposure, so hold the beam steady.
• Dissolve: Direct a beam of light at those small spirally symbols you see on many of the wall inside the Earth Temple and the light will cause whole sections to vanish. The same applies to the large elephant statues that often block dark passages inside the Earth Temple or the occasional battle dungeon.
• Stun: Undead enemies don't like the light. Try bringing some sunshine into the life of a ReDead to gain an important advantage in battle.
