Auction House

The Auction House is a shop on Windfall Island where you can purchase the Swift Sail, the Magic Armor, two Treasure Charts and a Heart Piece.

The Auction House is on the right side of the main stairway leading up into the city -- the Auctions only take place at night, so you'll need to change the time of day by playing the Song of Passing.

Don't have the Song of Passing? No problem, you can learn it from the man in Windfall on the top of the northwestern hill. He's dressed in disco frills -- show him the Wind Waker and he'll teach you the song.

In the Auction House, you may have to quit out and re-enter a few times to get the item you want to appear. If you allow another bidder to win instead of quitting out, you MUST win the item you lost out on before it will randomly switch again.

To win the auction you can use a clever trick: Place a bid 10% higher than the current bid to freeze your opponents for 15 seconds. A good technique is to place a 10% higher bid (e.g. if the current bid is 110, add 10%, or 11 rupees for a bid of 121) at the 30 second mark, then wait for someone to get un-stunned. Mash the button to place another 10% increased bid around the 10 second mark.

Another method to easily win at the aucion house, while keeping the price down as much as possible, is to place only one bet at the very end of the aution, after he announces "only five seconds left". ?As soon as the auction starts, repeatedly press the 'A' button until your bar reaches about halfway. ?Then do not press 'A' again until he announces: "only five seconds left". ?(the bar will keep moving slowly even though you haven't been pressing 'A'). ?Once he makes that announcement, press 'A' again until the bar is very close to the end, if it isn't already, and( there will be a few other bids but the timer stops for each bid) count down from five... when you reach one second, place your bid, the timer will run out and .... conGRA TU LATIONS! you have won the item. ?And you only had to bring the price up 1 Rupee!
