Shields
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Shields are your first defense against incoming attacks. In this IGN wiki guide, we go over all the shields in the game and their Hyrule Compendium Number.
What are Shields
Shields are broad pieces of material that you can use to block or parry attacks. However, they can only be used with one-handed or no weapons. Shields have limited durability, like weapons, so each strike you take will take that durability down.
This piece of equipment can also be used for surfing. To do that, hold your shield, jump, and press the A button mid-air. Keep in mind that surfing will also lower your shield's durability.
