The Flamebreaker Set is armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that allows you to venture into the hottest lava-filled areas of the Eldin region and its caves.

Flamebreaker Set

This set is absolutely essential for any extended exploration in and around Death Mountain and the Depths below it and is, thankfully, quite easy to get your hands on. In addition to their individual effects, upgrading the entire set to level 2 prevent Link from taking extended burning damage.

The Flamebreaker Armor Set is comprised of three armor pieces:

• Flamebreaker Helm - Head Gear (Base Defense 3, Sell Value 350)
• Flamebreaker Armor - Chest Gear (Base Defense 3, Sell Value 175)
• Flamebreaker Boots - Leg Gear (Base Defense 3, Sell Value 300)

The Flamebreaker Set can be dyed at the Hateno Dye Shop, and it can be upgraded at the Great Fairy Fountains.

Where to Get the Flamebreaker Armor Set in TotK

Rather than embarking on a series of different side quests to get your hands on the Flamebreaker Armor in ToTK, you can simply purchase it at the Armor Shop in Goron City. It is rather expensive, though, so you may have to save up a little before you can collect the entire set.

The Armor Shop is on the Southwest side of the town square beside the Inn, and you can purchase all three pieces of the set for a total of 3,300 Rupees, or just buy them individually:

• Flamebreaker Helm - 1,400 Rupees
• Flamebreaker Armor - 700 Rupees
• Flamebreaker Boots - 1,200 Rupees

If you’re low on Rupees, you can always sell?rare ore like Sapphires, Topaz, Rubies, and Diamonds that can be mined around Death Mountain and from the deposits in caves. There is also a traveling Gerudo Merchant nearby who has a Side Quest Amber Dealer and will happily by 10 Amber for 1,000 Rupees!

Flamebreaker Armor Set Upgrades

After you find and unlock the Great Fairy Fountains in Hyrule, you can bring them ingredients and a donation of rupees to increase the armor value of each piece of armor. All pieces of the Flamebreaker Armor Set will require the same materials to upgrade each. See the table below for the ingredients needed and defense bonus you can gain for each piece of armor.

• Upgrading each piece to level 2 will unlock the Set Bonus: Flameproof, making it impossible for Link to take extended burning damage when hit by any fire elemental attack or effect.
