Armor of the Hero Set
The Armor of the Hero is a returning armor set from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Back then, you could only get the set via a?Zelda-themed Amiibo. While this is still the case in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can also find all three pieces of the Armor of the Hero Set in the Depths if you’re brave enough to find them.
This set harkens back to Link's very first appearance as Hyrule's hero. Although its usefulness narrows down to more than just cosmetics, this is one of the many blasts from the past it's worth obtaining.
In this guide, you will find information on exactly where to find every piece of the Armor of the Hero Set, including stats and upgrade requirements.

How to Get the Armor of the Hero
There are two ways to get your hands on the three pieces that make up the Armor of the Hero.
Scan the 8-Bit Link Amiibo
If you own the 8-Bit Link Amiibo, hold L to open your abilities wheel, then select the Amiibo icon. Get Link to an open area, then place your Amiibo near the NFC touchpoint on your Switch or controller, and you'll have the chance to unlock the Armor of the Hero.
Where to Find the Armor of the Hero Set in TotK
If you don’t have the 8-Bit Link Amiibo, don’t worry! You can still find all three pieces of the Armor of the Hero Set hidden in the Depths. Click the links below to be taken straight to a guide for that particular piece:
Tunic of the Hero
Tunic of the Hero coordinates: 1284, -1812, -1784.
The Tunic of the Hero can be found in the middle of the Dueling Canyons Mine. The closest Chasm to the treasure is the East Hill Chasm.
East Hill Chasm coordinates: 1974, -0897, 0168.
The East Hill Chasm can be found northeast of the Ring Ruins, north of the Kakariko Village in West Necluda. Once you land in the Depths, make your way to the southwest to activate the Arusakam Lightroot.
The?Arusakam Lightroot is southwest of the East Hill Chasm and just north of the?Abandoned Kakariko Mines.?Be careful not to fall to the Mine without having lit up the Lightroot or it will be quite the hassle climbing back up.
Arusakam Lightroot coordinates: 1770, -1053, -0608.
If you do fall without the aid of light, try using Brightbloom seeds to get to the nearest climbable tree and paraglide from the tree to the wall. Keep heading southwest until you reach the Sohse Lighroot, which is the closest one to the Dueling Canyons Mine.
Sohse Lightroot coordinates: 1565, -1947, -0464.
After activating the Sohse Lightroot, drop into the canyon below and make your way directly to the west. You will see your location pop up on your screen when you arrive at the Dueling Canyons Mine.
When you do, start looking around for a small stone structure with a roof on top of it. There, sitting in the middle of the stone monument, will be the chest containing the Tunic of the Hero.
Trousers of the Hero
Trousers of the Hero coordinates: -3354, 2313, -0812.
The Trousers of the Hero can be found in the Corvash Canyon Mine, in the Depths beneath the Hebra Mountains. This piece will have you walking for a while, since the closest chasm is relatively far away from the treasure's location.
Start by diving into the Hyrule Ridge Chasm, located west of the LIndor's Brow Skyview Tower.
Hyrule Ridge Chasm coordinates: -2643, 1126, 0157.
The first Lightroot closest to the chasm will be?Tikanur Lightroot. While this is not necessary to light up, it is recommended in order to continue navigating safely on the long walk you are about to embark on.?When you’re ready, head to the northwest to find the next Lightroot.
Tikanur Lightroot coordinates: -2529, 1170, -0623.
The second recommended Lightroot that you will come across while looking for the mines will be?Kawumoro Lightroot. This is northwest from the Hyrule Ridge Chasm.?
Kawumoro Lightroot coordinates: -3077, 1616, -0687.
Turn to the southwest when you reach the Kawumoro Lightroot to activate the?Worihas Lightroot.?This Lightroot is extremely close to your final destination at the Corvash Canyon Mines.?
Worihas Lightroot coordinates: -3353, 2385, -0802.
The Corvash Canyon Mine is at the bottom of a large canyon, so pull out your glider and drop down after activating the Worihas Lightroot. As you make your way to the Mine and see the location pop up on your screen, start looking for a small, stone structure.
There, waiting for you in the stone monument, is the chest containing the Trousers of the Hero.
Cap of the Hero
Cap of the Hero coordinates: 2517, -3602, -0626.
The Cap of the Hero can be found in the in the Tuft Canyon Mine south of the Ancient Observation Deck. To get there, enter the Meda Mountain Chasm, which is northwest of the?Meda Mountain and north of the?Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.
Meda Mountain Chasm coordinates: 2515, -2373, 0012.
As you descend, paraglide to the west to reach the?Yikot Lightroot.?Activate that to illuminate the area and get your bearings before heading south to the Tuft Canyon Mine.
Yikot Lightroot coordinates: 2303, -2378, -0617.
There are two other Lightroots that you should activate on your way south. There are the?Mimufis Lightroot?and the?Kotimab Lightroot?located north of the Abandoned Lurelin Mines. Mimufis Lightroot is the closest to the Tuft Canyon Mines, but since the Lightroots are so close together, it is best to activate them both at once before proceeding.?
Mimufis Lightroot coordinates: 2825, -3269, -0526.
Kotimab Lightroot coordinates: 3092, -3209, -0624.
The Tuft Canyon Mine is a little ways southwest from the Abandoned Lurelin Mines. As you make your way closer and see the Tuft Canyon Mine location pop up on your screen, start looking for a small stone structure in the center of the mine.
There, sitting right in the middle of the stone structure, will be the chest containing the Cap of the Hero.
