Towns and Stables
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom features a large group of Towns and Stables found across the land of Hyrule. A returning feature from Breath of the Wild, these settlements are places Link can visit to rest, shop, and speak with NPCs to learn more information and take on various side quests. In fact, most if not all of the Towns and Stables are in the exact same locations as they were in the previous game.
Though some time has passed since the events of Breath of the Wild, the people of Hyrule are still struggling to rebuild their kingdom after the attack from Calamity Ganon and the corrupted Guardians. They may be in the same locations, but they are not all in the same state or condition you saw them in last. This guide will help fill you in on these key locations across Hyrule.

List of Towns and Settlements
Many stables still stand, as well as larger bastions of safety for Hylians, Gorons, Zora, Rito, and Gerudo. The larger towns present in Breath of the Wild include:
Lookout Landing | Kakariko Village | Hateno Village | Lurelin Village |
Rito Village | Goron City | Zora's Domain | Gerudo Town |
Tarrey Town | Kara Kara Bazaar | Korok Forest |
Lookout Landing
A new settlement constructed during the events of the Upheaval when Link and Zelda went missing under Hyrule Castle, Lookout Landing is a small forward base camp set up right outside the Castle Town Ruins in North Central Hyrule, over the Sacred Ground Ruins where Link was once knighted as Zelda's champion among his fellow peers over 100 years ago.
Now it has become a base of operations to find the missing princess in the nearby castle, and where Purah and her team work to understand the mysteries of the upheval and its regional anomalies, the floating sky islands, and the mysterious depths.
Shelter is provided in an emergency bunker under the ruins itself, and a general goods store has even opened up to supply those visiting.
Kakariko Village
Kakariko Village is a small settlement with a long history in Zelda games, nestled in between mountain peaks south of the Lanaryu Wetlands. The home of the Sheikah Tribe that has served the Royal Family, Kakariko Village stands in a valley in West Necluda just north of the Dueling Peaks. The quiet community was hit hard by the arrival of circular "ring ruins" falling from the skies above to crash around the village, turning the settlement into an archaeological dig site overnight.
With the sudden departure of the Sheikah Elder, Impa, it has fallen to Paya to now lead the tribe, as well as leading the research of the mysterious ruins from the sky.
Hateno Village
The farming community of Hateno Village is located far in the southeast of Hyrule, past the Dueling Peaks and resting at the southern foot of Mount Lanayru. It was able to avoid the larger effects of the Calamity, but has undergone a different kind of change recently.
With a new fashion craze sweeping the town, the residents now find themselves between becoming a tourist sensation, and remaining with their quiet farming roots.
Lurelin Village
The coastal fishing community of Lurelin Village can be found past Hyrule's southern Faron region in the bottom part of East Necluda, southwest across the mountains from Hateno Village. Though it was able to survive relatively unscathed during the Calamity, the recent arrival of Ganondorf's minions has cause the coastal town to fall on hard times.
The arrival of a giant pirate ship crewed by wicked Bokoblins and their leader has forced many to flee, an the survivors remain unable to return to their homes until a hero can exterminate the evil lurking in its ruins.
Tarrey Town
A recent construction that began by a man named Hudson with the help of the Hylian Champion, Link, Tarrey Town has evolved from a small plot of land on a spire overlooking the large lake in the Akkala region far in the northeast.
Now a bustling hub of trade between all races, the Hudson Construction Company has expanded to begin helping all of Hyrule in their efforts to rebuild, and have also recently begun testing new Zonai Devices from the fallen ruins to build and test vehicles.
Rito Village
Nestled in the middle of a large lake at the foot of the Hebra Mountains far in the northwest of Hyrule, Rito Village can be found on the road past the Tabantha Frontier, and is home of the bird-like Rito people.
With the arrival of the Upheveal, a strange anomaly has begun to plague the village, and an ominous never-ending stormcloud has turned the region into a permanent blizzard, scattering the wildlife and freezing the terrain, making it increasingly harder for the Rito people to forage for food and supplies.
Goron City
Located in the large Eldin Canyon below Death Mountain, in the northeast part of Hyrule, the rock-eating Gorons call this city their home. A central hub of mining produces some othe rarest ores sought by every race, and delicous rocks the Gorons favor above all else.
Recently, a strange new type of rock roast has gotten much of the adult Goron population acting strange, and at its source seems to be the efforts of the new mining company, YunoboCo, led by the recent champion of the Goron people who fought alongside Link not too long ago.
Zora's Domain
At the source of the Great Lanayru Spring that feeds its waters into the rest of Hyrule from the eastern ridges, the Zora people have constructed their domain, led by King Dorephan. The Zora are long-lived and stalwart allies of the people of Hyrule, especially thanks to the eager and chivalrous prince Sidon.
Shortly after the great Upheveal that sent Hyrule Castle into the sky and several ruins to float above the domain, a strange murky substances has begun spewing down into the Great Lanayru Spring, turning vibrant waters into thick muck, and injuring the Zora who come into contact with it.
Gerudo Town
Far in the southwest, the expansive deserts are home to the Gerudo women, who make Gerudo Town their home, with the Kara Kara Bazaar not too far away at the edge of the Gerudo Canyon. A secretive race of women, the Gerudo forbid entry to any males (who they call "voes"), though their young chief has recently bent the rules to allow a certain Hylian champion.
Lately, a blinding sandstorm has enveloped much of Gerudo Desert, making the region near impossible to traverse. To make matters worse, strange new monster lurk in the sands, and now lay siege to the isolated settlement.
Kara Kara Bazaar
The last stop before the treacherous deserts of the Gerudo region in the southwest, the Kara Kara Bazaar exists as an oasis and trading post for travelers and those who wish to make the trek to Gerudo Town further into the desert.
Stable Locations
In addition to the major towns, there are also smaller stables comprised of a single building resembling a horse's head. In these places Link can spend the night to rest, and also stable or take out tamed horses. Certain stables have moved, shut down, or changed hands since the events of Breath of the Wild:
- Dueling Peaks Stable (West Necluda)
- Outskirt Stable (South Central Hyrule)
- Riverside Stable (Central Hyrule)
- Wetland Stable (Central Hyrule)
- Highland Stable (Faron)
- Lakeside Stable (Faron)

All in all, there are 15 different stables in Tears of the Kingdom.
