Characters that appear in regular-sized boxes are original characters. Characters that appear in boxes next to them that are slightly lowered are what we like to call "clones." A clone character usually possesses different stats from its neighbor, but features an almost identical selection of moves. In some cases, like with Pichu, the character has an additional handicap or special ability.
