In Super Mario 3D World you have the choice to play as either Mario, Luigi, Toad, or Princess Peach. This is the first time since Super Mario 2 that you have a choice of either of these characters in the same game. ?

Mario is well rounded. He can jump high, run quickly, and is fairly easy to control as he does not slide much. Mario is good for anybody.
Luigi
Luigi is springy and slippery. Luigi jumps slightly higher than Mario, but he can be a little tricker to move because he slides more. Good for people who are good at moving around and/or are bad at jumping.
Blue Toad
Blue Toad is the quickest runner of the bunch, and accelerates faster, but does not jump as high. Good for speedrunners and the adventurous type.
Princess Peach
Princess Peach is the slowest and accelerates slower. She jumps normal height but floats down slower. Good for beginners or those who want precise timing.
