How to Unlock the Lamb's Lure and Sheep Attack
The Lamb's Lure and Sheep Attack are hidden special items that can only be unlocked in a very peculiar way in Super Mario RPG. It involves buying a mysterious egg item, equipping a strange ring, and using it with a certain character for a number of times. Once unlocked, the Lamb's Lure can sometimes eliminate an enemy from a battle, while the upgraded version called the Sheep Attack has a chance to remove all enemies from a fight at once.
In order to unlock the Lamb's Lure, you'll need Peach, and two items: The Nurture Ring, and the Mystery Egg.
Where to Get the Nurture Ring
The Nurture Ring (known in the SNES version as the B'Tubb Ring), is a strange accessory that is only sold in Marrymore's hotel and shop for 125 Coins. Furthermore, it can only be equipped and used by Peach, who will join your party after the events at the Marrymore Chapel.
However, the accessory adds no stats, and has no apparent use, other than its tooltip stating "Overflowing with the power of love". To make proper use of it, you'll need to find an item to help unlock its potential.
Where to Get the Mystery Egg
After completing the Mole Mines and gaining the third Star Piece, you'll find that a Treasure-hunting Toad has taken up residence in the Moleville Shop. He'll sell odd curiosities over the course of the game in exchange for Coins, and his wares will expand as you progress.
Once you've gained the fifth Star Piece from the Sunken Ship and defeated Speardovich, you can return to Moleville and find that the Treasure-hunting Toad sells a Mystery Egg for 200 Coins.
This item will sit in your inventory, and while using it won't consume the item, the tool-tip states that you can "Raise with pure love and a nurtu-ring heart.
How to Unlock the Lamb's Lure
Now that you have both pieces of the puzzle, equip Peach with the Nurture Ring, and go into any battle. Have her use the Mystery Egg when it's her turn, and she'll raise it up... to no effect.
However, if you use the Mystery Egg 10 times with the Nurture Ring equipped, you'll get the message "You're a great shepherd!" and a lamb will emerge from the egg!
After this, the Mystery Egg will become the Lamb's Lure in your inventory. When used, the lamb will fly over to the targeted enemy. If successful, the enemy will also become a lamb, and the two will fly off the battlefield. You can use this to quickly eliminate a troublesome enemy (though it won't work on bosses). However, any enemy defeated this way will not offer experience, coins, or items.
How to Unlock the Sheep Attack
The Lamb's Lure has one last hidden secret to uncover, but it takes a bit of work to reveal.
In order to unlock the next evolution of the Lamb's Lure, you need to use it in battle against 100 enemies! You don't need the Nurture Ring equipped anymore, but it will take awhile regardless, so it's good to either head through very early areas in the game, or find a place where enemies will constantly respawn (from holes or Lakitu or elsewhere).
Once you've used it 100 times, you'll get the message "The flock is full!", and the Lamb's Lure will become the Sheep Attack item. When used, little sheep will fly all over the screen, and turn all the enemies on the screen into sheep before flying away.
This will allow you to clear entire battles without having to attack anyone (so long as the effect works). But just like the Lamb's Lure, using this method will not gain you any experience or coins, making it nonviable for farming, and better for escaping a fight quickly.
