Guilds are groups of players that have been unified under one group name. People join guilds for different reasons, such as social interaction, PVP, PVE, leveling, etc. As such, each guild must specify its goals and purposes and make them clear for the members.

The guild master creates the guild and names it, and is in control of all aspects of the guild, such as its purpose, member recruitment, etc.

Guilds can be formed at any level. The cost is 5000 credits, and you must be in a party with 3 other people that would like to form the guild with you. Guild creations screen below.

As of Update 2.0 Scum and Villany all players who are in a guild will earn a global 5% bonus XP, this bonus is stacked with your rested XP bonus as well as any other XP boosters.

Customization

You can edit the ranks in your guild to change the names and add ranks.? You can have up to a total of ten ranks and can set there usable functions via the ranks tab.?

There is an exclusive officer chat that can be used by anyone that has that option on there rank.

Members are able to set a member not that all members can see. Offers can set an officer not for players that only officers can see.

Pre-Release Guild Program

You don't have to wait until launch to create or join a guild in Star Wars?: The Old Republic?. With our three-phased Pre-Launch Guild Program, you have the opportunity to find a group now that suits your play style, or if you prefer to start your own guild, you can reserve your preferred guild name and begin recruiting members to join your cause. When the game launches, you will have the opportunity to transfer your guild directly into the game. The program is currently in the third stage the Deploy stage.? All final changes must be made. Guild creation will end on December 2nd in preperation for deployment.

Players who are part of a guild that has completed all the prerequisites for being placed on a server will be e-mailed the name of their server on Dec 12th, 2011.

Possible Problems

Sometimes a glitch can arise in which players are unable to see who is online in their guild. The cause of this glitch is unknown so far and no solution has yet been found.
