Introduction
Seven years ago in 1995, the idea of a first-person shooter, while several years old, was still an exciting and new concept. Games like Wolfenstein 3-D and Doom made great strides in the genre. FPS-hungry fans were understandably excited when the Star Wars universe was added to FPS games in Dark Forces. Dark Forces, as well as Dark Forces II and the two Jedi Knight games (Dark Forces II and Mysteries of the Sith), all stand out in the history of PC gaming.
Nowadays, the FPS genre has been used so much that unless something new and exciting is done, players will look away. Fortunately, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast provides a good mix of fun. With lots of action, puzzles, and Star Wars features, it's sure to please most anyone who sits down and plays it.
Jedi Outcast once again follows the experiences of Kyle Katarn, the former Jedi who relinquished his powers after nearly succumbing to the Dark Side. As you make your way through the game, you'll encounter familiar characters and places from the Star Wars universe while an epic plot unfolds.
And if it'll make you feel better if I say it now and get it out of the way... "May the force be with you."
