All the New Features in Splatoon 3
Despite its many similarities to the previous game, Splatoon 3 does offer a variety of new features—most of which, if not all, are welcomed additions. We've got guides breaking down all the new features that are introduced in this game. New and returning players to the series, check out the pages below to learn about all the new stuff in Splatoon 3 and what's changed since Splatoon 2.
Story Mode Walkthrough and Collectibles
Though the Splatoon series is predominantly a multiplayer franchise, the Splatoon games have each offered single-player story modes, involving the Squidbeak Platoon’s confrontations with the Octarians. Though the story itself was much in the forefront, players who choose to look for collectibles like the Sunken Sea Scrolls (which also return in this game) have discovered a surprisingly large amount of lore that gives context to the post-apocalyptic future world in which Splatoon exists.
The lands in Alterna have a whole bunch of hidden items to collect. Therefore, we made a whole bunch of guides to help you find them! Check out the pages below to see the locations of each type of collectible, or if you'd rather look for them site-by-site, we've got them sorted that way too! You can see select the site you want on our Story Mode - Alterna Collectibles page.

Splatfest Guide
Splatfests are the Splatoon series’ signature events. These are festivals where all Splatoon players get together to answer life’s toughest questions. For example, in previous games, Splatoon players have decided that the Chicken came before the Egg, Dogs are better pets than Cats, and Waffles are better than Pancakes—just to name a few! Splatoon 3 has expanded Splatfests to now include three choices, which means now even more answers can be determined. Check out our Splatfest Guide to see contains everything you need to know about Splatfests—we cover differences between Splafest Open and Pro battles, how Tricolor Battles work, explain the difference between Conch Shells and Festival Shells and provide details about Synergy Bonus, Clout, and a whole bunch more!
