Best Gods Tier List
Smite has more than 100 gods from more than a dozen pantheons, but not all of them can be at the top of the pile. Here’s our Tier list of some of the best Gods in the game. Note that because each god performs differently in each game mode, just because they aren’t high on the tier list doesn’t mean they are completely invaluable, so don’t be afraid to give a lower-tier god a try!.
S Tier
| | | | |
Bastet | Izanami | Ah Muzen Cab | Skadi | Arachne |
| ||||
Olorun |
These gods are some of the best in the because of their raw carry potential. For example, Bastet and Arachne can quickly assassinate anyone in their way when they get ahead, and hunters like Izanami or Olorun can dominate teamfights with their high basic attack damage. While they may have some flaws, these gods stand head and shoulders above the competition.

A Tier
While not the best, the majority of these gods have advantages that move them above the more average gods placed in the lower tiers. Guardians in this tier like Artio and Geb have strong engage potential and are much better at controlling fights with their crowd control abilities. The mages such as Sol and Morgan Le Fay all do fair damage but are still held back by their weaknesses, though to a lesser extent than the B or C tier gods. All of these gods are very strong in the right hands; they just don’t dominate nearly as well as the S tier.
B Tier
In the B tier, you’ll find most of Smite’s gods, all of them very versatile but not truly dominant in any categories. Assassins such as Da Ji and Nemesis can perform well but can also fall behind quickly if they’re unable to farm or kill gods effectively. Mages and hunters such as Persephone and Danzaburou also fall behind faster than other gods and often struggle to climb back up if the early game does not go their way, but this also works in the other direction if they can dominate in the early game. While very flawed when compared to the higher tiers, most gods in the B tier are still able to perform fairly well.
C Tier
Gods in this tier are outweighed by their weaknesses; sometimes due to the higher skill they require(such as The Morrgian and Serqet), or because their damage and utility don’t compete with the higher tiers. Warriors such as King Arthur and Cu Chulainn struggle from behind-more so than the warriors in the tier above- and hunters like Medusa and Charybis struggle when dueling more powerful hunters like Skadi or Izanami. Though they will require both a good early game and solid knowledge of their weaknesses, most of the gods here can still perform well, but not as effectively or quickly as their higher-tier equivalents.
D Tier
| | | |
Guan Yu | Zhong Kui | Fafnir | Janus |
Gods in this tier struggle the most with competing with other tiers, even the gods with more weaknesses than strengths in the C tier. Zhong Kui and Janus are unable to either stay ahead when in the lead or come back from behind. Fafnir does not have the utility that makes the higher tier guardians so effective in controlling the flow of a teamfight, and while Guan Yu’s ultimate is a powerful stun, he can’t stun effectively without quickly being focused down if he engages on the enemy team. These gods are unique in that they perform well below the other gods in this list. They have their positives, but are vastly bogged down with flaws in their stats or abilities; because of that, they aren’t recommended unless you’re very interested.
