Fit Battles
This page tells you all about the Fit Battles you'll need to do in order to progress in the Adventure Mode for Ring Fit Adventure.
Fit Battles
You'll see a brief tutorial to explain the fit battles when you first encounter one in the Transient Temple Stage. Fit battles are turn based battles using exercises and Fit Skills. You can choose which Fit Skills you want to do by rotating the Ring-Con and you'll unlock more as you play.
Each Fit Skill will have a recharge time (in turns) and an attack number. The higher the number the more damage you'll do to your opponent. You can choose whichever one you like though as you progress it may be more beneficial to select some Fit Skills than others. Select a Fit Skill by pushing in on the Ring-Con.
On the left side of the screen, you can see Tipp showing you how to do the exercise. Don't worry and take your time, you can watch Tipp to see how it's done before you start. There's also an advice section on the bottom of the screen.
Above advice is a bar showing you how many actions you have which is potentially based on the difficulty you have the game set to. This is how many times you'll do the Fit Skill. The blue ones are meant to be done much quicker.
Over this again is the instruction word. This word will fill up as you are doing the Fit Skill - for example, a squat will need to be held in the lower position until the words are full before standing back up to do the exercise properly.
Upon standing/release of the exercise, you'll do damage to the monster. How well you do the Fit Skill will change how much damage you do. You can monitor this by seeing the numbers and words above the monster when it takes damage, as well as Ring's commentary.
After your attack, it's time to defend using Ab Guard. Press the Ring-Con until your abs to perform an ab guard.
The harder you do this will make your guard better and you should see a large shield to let you know when you've reached maximum guard.
You need to hold this guard while the Monster attacks to minimise how much damage you take. Your health is conveyed through hearts and the more full hearts you have the more health you have. Taking damage will take portions of these hearts away - if you have none left you'll have to restart the stage.
During the game you'll unlock the ability to make smoothies and find hearts during levels to help with replenishing health. Keep doing exercises and Fit Skills, and ab guards until you've defeated the monster or monsters. You'll get a screen afterwards saying how many coins you were awarded and then another one giving you an Fit Skill and exp run down for this fit battle.
Once the battle is over, you'll be taken back to where you were before it began so you can continue on with the level.
Colour Coding
After you beat the final stage in World 2 - The Land of Night you'll unlock Colour Coding. This means that enemies will recieve more damage from attacks that are the same colour as they are. It's STAB damage or similar to elemental weaknesses for those familiar with RPGs.
Once you have it, Colour Coding will allow you to deal extra damage to enemies as long as you choose Fit Skills with the correct colours.
Setting Fit Skills
Once you get to a high enough level and have unlocked enough Fit Skills and Exercises, you'll need to start being picky about which ones you take into battle. Before a you start a stage, it may recommend you have a particular colour of Fit Skill set. This gives you an idea of the enemies you're about to face.
Make sure to choose Fit Skills that will let you take on all sorts of enemies and if you're having trouble with a stage, try changing out your set skills to give you a greater advantage.
