Exploration Day 22: Primordial Thicket - The Mud Pit Cave and Toggle Training Cave

All Rescues, Treasures, Sublevel Caves, and Flarlic: Day 22

Below is a quick summary of all the treasures, rescues, and flarlics you'll be able to find on this day. You can find the step-by-step Walkthrough on how to do this further down the page.

Starting Day 22 at the Rescue Command Post

• Speak to Shepherd. Learn Mega Rush. LV. 4 and Pluck LV. 1

At Primordial Thicket

When you land again you’ll see Moss with Louie and Nelle. As you take control of your character, go left and remove the Sticky Mold. Collect the pile of Raw Material, then go up the slope to the right.

Clear the Sticky Mold here and the Moldy Bulborbs, then head straight into your first cave of the Primordial Thicket.

The Mud Pit

Go left and charge through the crab here. Continue up the slope to left, and go through the metal bars to get the pile of Gold Nuggets and the second crab.

Go back down the slope and continue on to mushrooms. Clear them, and then clear the Sticky Mold on the next island. Charge at the Miniature Snootwhackers to knock them down and attack their bellies when they roll over.

Head right and dig out the tunnel so you can cross over the Mamuta. After fighting this, it will drop the next treasure.

Crunchy Deluge

Turn right and face the mainland, then break the rocks to use the wind to travel over to the next section. Charge the Miniature Snootwhacker, and pick up the ball.

Sphere of Good Fortune

Turn right and start getting Pikmin to build the climbing wall, then go forward toward the exit and clear the room of the Sticky Mold. As you do, mites and a Mama Sheargrub will appear, so keep an eye out!

Return to the climbing wall and ride the rail. Be prepared to throw 3 Pikmin as you do to collect the treasure. When you land, just go straight forward to exit onto sublevel 2.

Sublevel 2

Sublevel 2 will be a lot darker, but the glowing mushrooms will pop up as you pass them, showing you where you've already been. Go left first and smash the pots. This will drop some Raw Material, but as you charge through, a creature will appear from the mud.

After fighting this, it will drop your first treasure of this level.

Portable Sunset

Continue on and smash through the second set of pots. Go straight over the mud to the other side, pick up the Raw Material, turn right and smash the next lot of pots. Clear the creatures out here and continue on to the next base.

When you've unlocked the next base, turn left to collect the Flarlic. Then turn right, and have your Pikmin craft the bridge while you fish the two treasures out from the mud.

Sweat-Soaked Blue Bird

Skin of the Phoenix

Off in the distance, if you follow the path, you'll see Hydro Jellies and a drying blowhog that will try to freeze everything when you attack. Head over here, to fight this mammoth. When it's beaten, it will drop Dawn Pustules.

Smash the Hydro Jellies here and you'll also collect another treasure.

Crush Nugget

Sublevel 3

Sublevel 3 is a fight against two types of creatures. There are 2 Hermit Crawmads and 1 Bug-Eyed Crawmad. Focus on attacking the eyes of the Bug-Eyed Crawmad while the Hermit Crawmads hide.

When they jump out from the holes, run away from them and get Oatchi and the Pikmin to rush them. You'll then be able to focus on just the Bug-Eyed Crawmad. Keep attacking the eyes to make it roll over, then you can attack the underside of it to take it down.

After this fight, go over to the right side of the arena to pick up the treasure and don't forget to get the Castaway the Bug-Eyed Crawmad dropped.

Back on the Surface

When you exit from The Mud Pit, continue along the path you were taking. Ignore the slope down to the right for now, and go toward the Sticky Mold and Moldy Bulborbs. Clear this area, pick up the Raw Material on the left, and get the Dusk Pustules that sit on the ledge behind them.

When you've got these, go to the edge of the cliff and look down. Ignore the Raw Material for now and instead use the mushrooms to get across to the other side.

Turn right and lower the climbing rope, then clear the Sticky Mold and the flying Joutsmite from the area. Take note of the broken bridge to the right, but leave it for now.

Drop down to the left and crack the eggs at the base. This will release the mites that will try to prevent you from taking the base, but wipe these out and move the S.S. Beagle here.

Turn back towards where you came from, and use 30 Ice Pikmin to freeze the water. Collect the 2 fastenings from the left and go across the water.

Pick up the fish from the ledge in the middle of the frozen lake, then go up and get the Raw Material. When everything is transported back, unfreeze the water, and go up to the broken bridge and start repairing this.

Faux Fishy

It takes quite a lot of Raw Material to build this one, so as you wait, go around the perimeter underneath and clear it of all the creatures. This will make a clear path for you to pick up treasures.

Go back up to the bridge, then turn to the right to get the treasures suspended in the spider web. When it's transported, continue across the bridge (with Oatchi) and jump up to go into the next Dandori Cave.

Toggle Training

As you leave the cave, go down the bridge and turn right. When you get to the end of the slope that takes you down, use the last remaining moments of the day to clear out as many of the poisonous creatures and mushrooms as you can.

Look for an alcove on the left that also has one last treasure you should be able to get before the day is over.
