Starting Day 19 - At the Rescue Command Post
If you've been following our walkthrough, when Day 19 begins here's what we recommend you do:
- Speak to Shepherd first. Upgrade Oatchi's Big Chomp to LV. 1 and LV. 2
- We’d then recommend completing Captain Olimar's Shipwreck Tale. This unlocks the Trial of the Sage Leaf cave in the Rescue Command Post. This is a tough 10-level Dandori Challenge cave, but it will reward you with the Purple and White Onions, which are highly beneficial.
- Speak to Pitunia.
If you’ve completed the Trial of the Sage Leaf you’ll also be able to tick off:
- Speak to Dingo.
- Speak to Sy.
- Speak To Russ. Purchase Tuff Stuff++ for 120 and Air Armor+ for 60. Make sure you’re also stocked up on Bomb Rocks.
At Giant’s Hearth
As you land in Giant's Hearth, you'll see Moss and Louie carrying a castaway. When they dash off, it'll be up to you to get after them!
Go straight forward from where you land until you reach the bundle of straw, where the Bulborbs are circling. Take out the Bulborbs, then look for the ramp on the right. While you send some Pikmin to build this, have the others collect the Raw Material you passed. In the northwest corner, there's an Arachnode on a spider web. Clear this, so you can reach the fire on the right.
Once you've got access to the fire, use your Firestarter to break down the hay bundles that were near the Bulborbs, for some extra Raw Material. Go all the way back to the S.S. Beagle as well, to light the fire here. Now go back up the slope where you fought the Arachnode, and go to the broken bridge on the right. Have your Pikmin start to build this, then go over to the mushroom on the left. Send 5 Pikmin up on here. They will land on top of the box and lower the climbing rope so you can get up.
Climb up and wait at the entrance of the cave until the bridge is complete. As soon as it is, jump inside.
Dream Home
When you take control of your character, go forward and start by smashing the pots next to the vault. There will be a Sunsquish behind it, waiting for you. Once you've dealt with that, go left and pick up the card.
Deity's Portrait
Go right and have the Yellow Pikmin dig out the tunnel so you can get through to the other side. When you do, you'll see two treasures here waiting for you: a pile of Gold Nuggets and a train car just above.
Gold Nuggets x 20 - Dream Home 1
Leisure Car
After collecting these, go right and hop up the stairs. Keep going forward towards the next set of breakable pots, and smash through these. Go left, to see a Gildmandwee. On the right, tucked away in the corner is another set of pots that contain a treasure.
Fastening Item
Once you've smashed the pots and collected the treasure, turn around and focus on the Bulborbs. There are two small ones and a big one. The big one has the next treasure for you to get.
Condensed Sunshine
Just behind them, on the right, is a pile of Gold Nuggets as well.
Gold Nuggets x 20 - Dream Home 2
With this area clear, go left, and through to the southern part of the Dream Home. As you pass underneath the bridge, on the right, you'll see a climbing wall that needs to be created. On the left, there's a tunnel that only Oatchi can go in.
Have your Pikmin create the climbing wall, then send Oatchi through the tunnel. Before switching to Oatchi, look at the mushroom next to the raised bridge, and throw some Pikmin up there to help Oatchi fight the creatures.
Switch to Oatchi, then have him rush at the Miniature Snootwhacker and the Sunsquish. On the right of these, is a giant beach ball. Use Oatchi to get this (at this stage, Oatchi should be able to Swallow objects).
Divine Balloon
As soon as the climbing wall is built, go up it with the Pikmin and then go toward the raised bridge. Throw 20 Pikmin at it to lower it, then cross over to join Oatchi. Cross the bridge toward the floating platforms, where you should see a Flarlic (this is back toward the northern part of the area).
Before you go for the Flarlic, go left, throw Pikmin into the Candypop Bud, and get the Space Spinner. Now go back and over to the Flarlic. Wait for the floating platform to reach you, step on, then throw Pikmin at the Flarlic as you move over to the other side.
Space Spinner
Dream Home Flarlic
When you reach this ledge, you'll be able to collect two more Treasures. Turn back around and drop down to the left to reach the second Candypop Bud and collect more Pikmin.
Captivation Goo
Money Emblem
Climb back up the climbing wall and get Oatchi to meet you at the top again, and this time you're going to go toward the western side of the area. Have Oatchi rush at the Snootwhacker that's left, and then send your Pikmin to collect the playing card.
You'll now see a series of mushrooms that you can jump on. Go to the one furthest away from the slope, and closest to the Candypop Bud, to be able to jump over to the next section.
Clear out the creatures here, then turn right and have a Pikmin collect the next treasure, which is another card revealing the combination to the safe.
Use Pikmin to push the Paper Bag down, then prepare for the fight against the Mammoth Snootwhacker to get the last treasures and the final number for the safe.

How to Beat the Mammoth Snootwhacker
You won't be able to do anything to this Mammoth Snootwhacker until you knock it over. Charge up Oatchi's Rush and hurtle towards it. It will stun it the first time you do this, you'll then need to immediately charge Oatchi's Rush again to hit it a second time.
When you do this, the Mammoth Snootwhacker will be knocked over, and its soft belly exposed. This is the only time Oatchi and the Pikmin will be able to attack and do damage. You just need to repeat these steps by rushing at it twice each time you attack, to continue depleting its health.
When the fight is over, the Mammoth Snootwhacker will drop a castaway.
Don Bergman
You can then rush at the wall behind it to get the last two treasures.
With this collected, you'll have the code for the vault. Go back to where you started the Dream Home cave and enter the code to reveal the final treasure.
Jiggle-Jiggle
Back on the Surface
Drop down from the box and go back over to the fire on the right. Pick up another Firestarter and take it across the bridge with you, to light the next fire. There are a few Bulborbs to clear our here, and a treasure sits in the middle, in the pile of ash.
Clear out the pile of ash to get the Anxious Sprout and then go toward the sleeping Fiery Bulblax. You can charge at this to stun it and have your Pikmin quickly take it down so you can move the S.S. Beagle here.
Anxious Sprout
Go right near the Wollyhops, and take your Firestarter along with you. There's a treasure here encased in the bundles of hay, so throw the Firestarter at it to reveal a tomato.
Love Nugget
Go back to the S.S. Beagle, and head left (if you're facing toward the hearth and the Wollyhops). You'll see a banana hanging from the structure in front. As you approach, two Mama Sheargrubs will appear, so be careful.
Slapstick Crescent
Be sure to throw your Firestarters at any of the fires you see along the way, then go right after picking up the Slapstick Crescent and have Rock Pikmin break down the crystal wall. You'll find another base close by, on the right, near the giant hearth.
Activate this base, then head away from the hearth and to the right to find another treasure on a stone platform.
Slipper-Bug Fossil
Go left from this treasure and towards the water to find Moss and Louie with the castaway you saw earlier. They'll hop inside the Dandori Cave as soon as you get close to it. Follow them in and prepare to take on the Hot Sandy Duel.
Hot Sandy Duel (Dandori Battle)
In the Hot Sandy Duel, you'll go against Louie.
When you emerge from the cave, take the Castaway back to the S.S. Beagle, to find out its Yorke.
Yorke
That will wrap up the day, and as you get back, Yorke will be able to tinker with the S.S. Shepherd, expanding the radar even further to unlock the final area of the game, the Primordial Thicket. You can skip straight to the Primordial Thicket here, but if you want to complete the Giant's Hearth 100%, you'll want to come back for day 20.
