Captain Olimar's Shipwreck Tale - All 30 Ship Part Locations

Extra game content becomes available when you've completed the main mission stories to rescue Olimar and reach the first set of credits in Pikmin 4. One feature of this content is Captain Olimar's Shipwreck Tale. This takes place before the Prologue, with Olimar trying to find all 30 Ship Parts for his broken spaceship. Captain Olimar's Shipwreck Tale

Captain Olimar's Shipwreck Tale becomes available after rescuing Olimar. To do this, you'll have to unlock Hero's Hideaway, which can only be done by curing Leaflings and getting Bernard the Pilot back.

You'll have to complete 3 Night Expeditions after Serene Shores to find Bernard the Pilot. Once you've reached Hero's Hideaway, the key cave you'll need to find and finish in this area is the Leafy Showdown. This can only be accessed by finding 3 Playing Card Treasures, which have the code to open the vault door.

Inside, you'll find the Leafy Showdown cave, and the Leafling you'll rescue will be none other than Olimar. When he's returned to the S.S. Beagle, you'll need to complete another Night Expedition to cure Olimar of his Leafling status. This will lead to the first ending of the game.

However, you'll soon be back at the Rescue Command Post, with a chance to finish the rest of the content the game offers. This includes Olimar's Shipwreck Tale, which can be played at any time by speaking to Olimar.

How to Play Olimar's Shipwreck Tale - General Tips and Tricks

Olimar's Shipwreck Tale asks you to find 30 Ship Parts and you'll only have 15 Days to do so.

• Go to Blossoming Arcadia for Day 2 to find Moss, the "dog." You'll find Moss here, near the start. Moss is in the northwest portion of the map, up on a hill behind a grate only Olimar can slip through and right by the source of the fire in this version of Blossoming Arcadia. Moss will make it easier to get around while you find the rest of the parts, especially those that are behind breakable pots. Plus, Moss can help carry parts and attack creatures.

This is Moss's location:

• Make use of Nectar. Get those flowers to sprout on top of each Pikmin's head to make them faster. The faster they move, the faster you find Ship Parts!

• Head for Flarlics and Onions first in each location. You want your team to be bigger, and more varied, before anything else. This will make to collect Raw Material, attack creatures and get Ship Parts all at the same time.
• Excavate dirt mounds. You'll find all sorts of useful items like Bomb Rocks and Ice Blasts in them.
• Save 3 Bomb Rocks or Trackonators for when you get to Blossoming Arcadia. One wall requires 3 explosions to get the Ship Part.

Recovery Bonuses

As each day passes and you recover more and more Shipwreck Parts, you'll earn bonuses at the end of the day. These are Recovery Bonuses that give you boosts to make fighting creatures, finding Treasure, and upgrading Moss easier.

• Swallow - allows Moss to swallow and transport objects
• Ice Blasts

• Requires 10 Yellow Pikmin. You'll need to collect the Yellow Onion before you can reach this.

• Requires 20 Yellow Pikmin to be able to pull the bridge down to get across to this side and Moss to smash the pots. You'll need to collect the Yellow Onion before you can reach this and go to Blossoming Arcadia to get Moss.

Completing Olimar's Shipwreck Tale will open up a mysterious sublevel cave in the Rescue Command Post. This is a 10-level Dandori Challenge cave and is the only place you'll be able to find the Purple and White Onions.
