How to Catch Pals
Catching Pals in Palworld gives the players a lot of advantages when it comes to fighting and doing mundane tasks around your base. Each Pal has different traits and work suitability which make them diverse creatures that have the ability to change how you approach the game.
Not only that, but catching multiple copies of the same Pal also provides experience which can be a great way to level up quickly in the early game.
How to Catch Pals
Catching Pals usually involves lobbing a Pal Sphere towards them and hoping for the best. However, there are other things you can do to increase the probability of catching the Pal you currently have an eye on.
Create a Pal Sphere
Before catching a Pal, you need to create a Pal Sphere first. To do this, you should have it unlocked first under the technology tab. Simply open up your inventory and you should be able to see a tab there with the name "Technology".
After spending the technology points to unlock the Pal Sphere, you're going to need to gather the materials needed to craft it. A Pal Sphere can be crafted using 1x Paldium Fragment, 5x Wood, and 5x Stone. Once you've gathered these materials, head to the closest Workbench and you should be able to craft it.
Alternatively, Pal Spheres can also be found lying on the ground.
Locate a Pal You Want To Catch
After crafting a Pal Sphere, you're going to have to locate the Pal you want to catch. Sometimes, the Pal you want is just near your base, but sometimes they're a little bit farther. However, if you're just beginning your Palworld journey, we recommend catching Cattiva as it can do the most work in your base early on in the game. As you progress further, there are other Pals like Tanzee and Lifmunk that can do more things in your base.
Weaken the Pal You Want to Catch
After locating the unsuspecting Pal, you can either hit it with your weapon or throw a Pal you own. The aim here is to lower their HP first before throwing your Pal Sphere. This will increase the probability of capture. Pals can die if you miscalculate your damage output, so make sure you're always looking at their HP bar.
Once they're as low as possible, throw your Pal Sphere while aiming at the Pal and there should be a window that pops up that shows the probability of catching the Pal. Keep your eye on it as Pals can still break free from the Pal Spheres. The Pal will be caught once they stop struggling and you see a notification pop up that says you've successfully caught it!
As you progress and try catching rarer Pals, you'll need to craft higher level Pal Spheres.
You can also improve your catch% chance by collecting Lifmunk Effigies and offering them to a Statue of Power!
