Best Pals for Your Base and Ranch
If you know which Palworld creatures are the best Pals for your base, you can leave your base without having to worry about things like food production, logging, mining, and farming - just pick some skilled workers with the best work suitability traits, and they’ll do the work for you.
贬别谤别’蝉 how to pick the best Pals for your base in Palworld.
How to Find the Best Pal Workers
The best Pals for your base are typically the ones with the best work suitability skills; some Pals take on a variety of essential tasks, while others are especially good at specific tasks (as indicated by the work suitability skill level, which may be higher than the standard level 1).
Besides that, some Pals benefit from randomized Passive Skills stats, such as Serious (work speed +20%) or Mine Foreman trait (mining efficiency +25%). While the Pals listed below are typically the best Pals to work at the base, don’t forget to take a look at these personal traits - ideally, you’ll find a Pal with excellent work suitability skills and personal traits combined.
Best Pals for Your Base - Early Game
Based on their skills, here are the best Pals to place at your Palworld base at the start of the game, between player levels 1 and 15.
Lifmunk
004 - Lifmunk | Type: Grass | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 1 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 3-6 |
Of all the (very) early-game Pals you may encounter, the Lifmunk is the best Pal for your base as it can take on a large variety of tasks. After all, you won't find any Pals with high-level work suitability skills in early game anyway, so you might as well go for this chipmunk-of-all-trades. Furthermore, once you start your medicine production, around level 12, your Lifmunk is one of the few early-game Pals who can manage that task. You’ll find Lifmunks near the Ray Syndicate Tower amongst other places - just beware that they tend to give you a chase. If you're having trouble capturing a Lifmunk, Tanzee would be a good substitute.
Cattiva
002 - Cattiva | Type: Neutral | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 2 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 3-6 |
Although a bunch of Lifmunks can take care of the majority of the work, you also need an early-game Pal to handle transporting and mining. Cattiva is the perfect Pal for that, as they can do both. The mining skill is especially important in early-game, as you'll need a lot of stones for building.
Eikthyrdeer
037 - Eikthyrdeer | Type: Neutral | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 5 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 7-11 |
Wood is one of the most important resources in early-game, as you'll be doing a lot of crafting, cooking, and smelting. Eikthyrdeer is one of the few Pals with a lumbering skill at lvl. 2, which makes them an excellent worker for your base. You won't find a Pal with a better lumbering stat until you reach endgame.
Arsox
042 - Arsox | Type: Fire | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 5 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 9-12 |
Finally, while you don't need any cooling or electricity yet, a proper early-game Palworld base should have a kindler to prepare food and smelt ore. Arsox is a better early-game kindling Pal than Foxparks or Rooby, since they can also take care of lumbering. Having a secondary skill next to kindling is very handy as you typically don't need infinite kindling; once Arsox is done melting a stack of ore or preparing some food, they can make themselves useful by gathering wood.
Best Pals for Your Base - Mid Game
These are the best Pals to use at your base in mid-game, which is roughly from level 15 to 30.
Penking
011 - Penking | Type: Water, Ice | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 8 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 18-22 |
With no less than five different work suitability skills at level 2, the Penking has by far the best work suitability stats compared to other mid-game Pals. Some tasks are only needed once in a while (such as handiwork), but Penking can always do some mining when no other skills are needed. What's more, Penking can operate the cooler box which becomes available at level 13. Beware that this amazing base Pal is somewhat difficult to find; besides the level 15 Alpha Pal version, Penking only spawns in no. 1 Wildlife Sanctuary - the rocky island at the bottom of the map.
Univolt
056 - Univolt | Type: Electric | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 5 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 7-11 |
It’s hard to find Pals that can produce electricity in early-game, but that's fine; you don't need them until you unlock the Power Generator technology at level 26. Once you do, the best Electric Pal to power the generator is the Univolt, which comes with a level 2 electricity generator stat and spawns in the Bamboo Groves, an area safe enough for a mid-game player.
Beegarde
050 - Beegarde | Type: Grass | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 3 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 20-22 |
The true jack-of-all-trades, there’s no other Pal out there with as many work suitability traits as the Beegarde. Just drop the Beegarde in your base and they’ll take care of pretty much anything that needs doing. You can even assign your Beegarde to a ranch to obtain honey. That said, as mid-game players will be able to find base workers with slightly higher work suitability stats, Beegarde is best used as a jack-of-all-trades to jump on any task when none of the more specialized workers is available.
Best Pals for Your Base - Endgame
Here are the best Pal workers to place at your base after reaching Palworld's endgame. You should be at least level 30 or higher to capture these Pals.
Frostallion
110 - Frostallion | Type: Ice | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 7 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 50 |
The Frostallion was only blessed with one work suitability trait, but they can do it better than any other Pal: cooling. With a cooling level of 4, the Frostallion is the best Pal to refrigerate the base’s food supplies. On the downside, you'll have to travel to the northern part of the desert to find this Pal.
Blazamut
096 - Blazamut | Type: Fire | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 8 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 40-45 |
Together with Astegon, Blazamut has the highest mining stat. As if that’s not enough, Blazamut is also a great choice to take care of kindling. You can use Blazamut to smelt ores or prepare food, then send this Pal back to mining when it’s done.
Lyleen
104 - Lyleen | Type: Grass | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 6 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 40-45 |
Like many Grass-type Pals, Lyleen has a wide variety of work skills. Make no mistake though; Lyleen is a specialized worker. Her planting skill and medicine production come with the highest stats in the game, and she’s also really good at handiwork.
Wumpo
091 - Wumpo | Type: Ice | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 8 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 40-45 |
Wumpo has the highest lumbering stat, which makes it one of the best Pals for your base if you need more resources. On top of that, Wumpo has the highest transporting stat, which means that this Pal can quickly store your resources for you.
Orserk
106 - Orserk | Dragon, Electric | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 7 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 40-45 |
Finding a Pal with a high-level Electricity stat is difficult, but one you reach end-game, you can swap the Univolt for Orserk; with an Electricity stat of level 4, Orserk is the best power-supplying Pal in the game.
Best Pals for the Ranch
The only work suitability skill we haven't mentioned much yet is farming. Pals with the Farming trait can be assigned to a Ranch (which becomes available at level 5), where they will drop a particular item at certain intervals. A good example is Beegarde, whom we've mentioned above as one of the best base workers available. Beegarde drops Honey, which can be used to bake Cake needed for Pal breeding.
Besides Beegarde, here's an overview of the most useful Pals for farming.
Lamball - Wool
001 - Lamball | Type: Neutral | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Encounter level | lvl. 1-5 |
Wool is used to make cloth, and cloth is used in a great many crafting recipes, especially for armour and saddles. Lamball may not be useful for much else, but this early-game Pal will make it much easier to farm wool. Although they're harder to catch, Melpaca and Cremis also drop wool when assigned to a ranch.
Vixy - Various Items
014 - Vixy | Type: Neutral | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 1 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 3-6 |
Vixy digs up gold coins, arrows, wool, and even Pal Sheres when assigned to a ranch. If you aren't looking for a specific item, this early-game Pal is the perfect farmer for your base.
Flambelle - Fire Organ
070 - Flambelle | Type: Fire | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 2 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 9-11 |
Fire organs are used in a great many crafting recipes, such as furnaces, saddles, weapons, and fire arrows. With the help of Flambelle, you'll easily gather enough Flame Organs. And, if you want a second option, Kelpsea Ignis also provides Flame Organs.
Mozzarina - Milk
029 - Mozzarina | Type: Neutral | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Food consumption (scale 1-10): | 3 | |
Encounter level | lvl. 11-13 |
Milk is needed to bake cake, and cake is needed to breed Pals. As you can only get milk from the Mozzarina or a wandering merchant, it's always a good idea to reserve a spot on your ranch for this cow-like Pal.
Dumud - High Quality Pal Oil
043 - Dumud | Type: Ground | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Encounter level | lvl. 10-40 |
By the endgame, you'll need a steady supply of High-Quality Pal Oil to craft the Polymer. One or both of these materials are used in all sorts of firearm recipes, along with the Relaxaurus' Missile Launcher. Farming for the material used to involve slaughtering countless Pals, but since Palworld's v0.2.0.6 update, Dumud now produces it at the Farm.
Kelpsea - Pal Fluids
081 - Kelpsea | Type: Water | |
---|---|---|
Work suitability: |
| |
Drops: |
| |
Encounter level | lvl. 1-20 |
Like with Dumud, following Palworld's v0.2.0.6 update, Kelpsea now produces a vital material in-house in the form of Pal Fluids. Previously, the only way to get it was to farm Water Pals, either eliminating them outright or catching then butchering them. This way, however, you can just use Kelpsea with a work-boosting trait like Serious to earn them more efficiently. Among the most important recipes that require Pal Fluids is the Hot Spring that restores more SAN to Pals on break.
Other Farming Pals
Here's an overview of the remaining Pals with a Farming trait. Of course, they can still be very useful Ranch Pals, but their drops are not as essential as those of their peers.
- Chikipi: Drops eggs. It's used in some food recipes, but you can easily find them in the wild as well. If you need more Cake for breeding, it can be a good idea to assign a Chikipi to your ranch.
- Mau and Mau Cryst: Digs up money. Good to have, but you can get it from plenty of other sources.
- Caprity: Drops berries. An early-game farm will give you all the berries you require, so there's no need for Caprity's drops.
- Woolipop: Drops cotton candy. This food type doesn't expire, so it can be useful to bring with you on exploration trips.
- Sibelyx: Drops high quality cloth. Later in the game, you might want to swap Lamball for Sibelyx, so you no longer need to go through the trouble of turning wool into cloth.
