Rescue Your Crew
- Search the village for your crew.
August knew where the Ferals were taking your friends. With their help, you were able to make it to the outskirts. There's not much to do at camp, so once you've equipped the best gear you have (combination of close and long range weapons will help), head into the village.
- Clear the Outskirts
As you approach the first group of enemies, you will encounter a few Bulwarks (Breachers). Their close range shotguns are dangerous, but these enemies are most dangerous when they activate their own personal forcefield around themselves. This will block most normal weapon and skill damage, and are most easily taken down by bullet augmentation effects. If you can take down a Bulwark before they activate this forcefield, your life will be a bit simpler.
With the opening group of Bulwarks down, head forward and start dealing with the Warriors behind them. Once you have taken a few of them down, more Bulwarks will approach you, so focus on them before they get too close. You don't have much room to back up, so save your skills for nearby threats.
This arena is quite long and wide, so take your time to clear out enemies across your path before moving forward, so that you don't end up getting shot from behind. More enemies will spawn in once you move forward to a certain extent, so be careful not to rush in.
When there are only a few backline enemies left, a Brute Warlord will spawn in and use Anomaly Barrage to flush you out of your position. Keep moving, and get your skills ready to take the Warlord's health down. You probably won't be able to take them down with one assault, so get in and retreat to recharge and reload before tackling them again. This Warlord has a rifle and will move up on you quickly, so take them down by being agile around and behind cover as much as you can.
- Open the Gate

On the left side at the back is a loot chest. Grab this while listening to August, then head to the Gate on the right hand side of the combat arena to move forward. Walk up the steps, place an Explorer Flag, stock up on ammo, and head to the left of the Explorer Flag as you progress.
- Clear the Area
This next area has some up-close Warriors to contend with, as well as a ridge on the right hand side that is home to a Hunter or two, the Feral version of Marksmen. They behave mostly the same, until they perform their Anomaly skill, Javelin Strike, which essentially is an Anomaly version of a mortar-strike. So long as you keep moving, it should be pretty easy to avoid taking damage from this attack.
Take out the Hunter, and then clean up the remaining Warriors on this level before moving up the hill and around the corner.
There are a number of Warriors here to greet you, as well as a Berserker or two and a Hunter in the back. You've got room behind you if you need to back up, and lots of cover to move to in front of you to keep clear of the Hunters' lasersight, once the Warriors have been taken down that is.
When enough enemies are down or you have pushed forward enough, a group of Berserker's will start approaching you, followed by a Bulwark. Use your skills and any space behind you to take them down, otherwise this should be fairly standard.
Move forward when you're ready, taking out any Hunters you can along the way. This is another wide arena, so take out the enemies in front of you methodically to keep your back clear. Once the Hunters are all down, there should just be Warriors left before the area is clear.

- Move the Cart
Just before the cart, if you follow the right hand path around behind some buildings there is a loot chest. There's not much else in this area, so move the cart asides when ready and plant your next Explorer Flag. Don't forget to stock up on ammo! Head towards the closed gate when you are ready...
- Clear the Courtyard
It seems the Ferals have no appreciation for the workmanship of gates. You're penned in this Explorer Flag area to take out the oncoming enemies, which includes an initial group of two Bulwarks and a Destroyer (Ironclad). Take out the Bulwark's quickly, and then back up a ways to deal with the Destroyer as you would any other Ironclad. You have a bit of room to back up into the previous arena you just came from if you need.
Once the Destroyer is down, you can move up to the gate and start taking down some of the Warriors there, but there will be a Warlord moving up on you soon, so be ready to fall back out of harms way to take on the aggressive Warlord. Sprint around buildings and cover to give yourself the space you need.
With the Warlord down, once again head back to the gate and start clearing out the front line methodically while watching out for Hunter fire. The Hunters are your biggest threat at the moment, so take them down if you have the range to simplify the arena.
Once the Hunters are down, it should just be a matter of taking out the remaining Warriors until there's no more left.

- Move the Cart
There's a loot chest to the immediate left of the destroyed gate. Asides from that, you're free to move the cart aside, plant an Explorer Flag and stock up on ammo.
Behind the next cluster of buildings is a large tower with light glowing from it. Odds are this is where we need to go.
- Clear the Area
In the first hut in front of you is another Destroyer, with next to no back up for the moment. Take the opportunity to focus fire and use your skills to take this one down quickly before moving forward.
Behind this first enemy is another Destroyer. When you take out the first one, the backup will spawn in, including several Berserkers. If you have any close range skills, wait until they are all bunched up. Otherwise you will only take out a couple of them at a time before being swarmed by the rest of the Berserkers left behind.
With the team of Berserkers down, the second Destroyer will now be left alone. Take this one down just as you did the last. When they go down, yet another group of Berserkers will join in on cue. Back up and eliminate them best you can, just as you did the last group.
Nothing left to do now except approach the tower in the distance. There's a little bit of Iron Ore to mine, but otherwise, grab your ammo and walk up the stairs.
Boss Fight - Yagak
advertisement
- Defeat Yagak.
This is the leader of the Ferals, Yagak. There's one thing you need to keep in mind during this fight at all times. They're going to jump at you with that big sword, and it's going to happen really quickly, and it's going to happen over and over again. You have to become good at dodging these attacks, or else you're not going to make it through.
Dodging Yagak's sword strokes is difficult because they lunge so fast at you, which means that it's easy to inititate your dodge too late. Overcompensating for this however can also mean that you dodge too early and get hit anyway. Try to find that sweet spot as Yagak raises that sword overhead to begin your dodge.
A cheesier way to dodge Yagak's sword is find the one place where they can't jump straight to you. If you stand on the other side of the large hole in the ground, then Yagak's lunge will be forced to go around the side, keep them at bay. You will need to keep running around the hole to compensate for how much closer Yagak will now be to you, but this will take some of the moment to moment stress out of the fight if you can pull it off. Occasionally Yagak will be able to close the distance on you, so have your dodging reflexes at the ready.
Yagak will cast Displacement to teleport closer to you in the arena. If you keep running, you should be able to place yourself at a good distance from any further lunge attacks by getting back on the other side of the pit, but otherwise you may need to start dodging again.
Another attack to watch out for is Lightning Strikes. This will launches lightning from the sky at your feet with successive strikes behind you. When this attack is cast, it's best to sprint, as dodging can allow for the strikes to catch up with you. Sprinting will guarantee you stay ahead of the lightning.
After a time, Yagak will thrust their sword into the ground and cast an immunity bubble. At the same time, two groups of two Berserkers will launch out of the pit in the center and start to close in on you. When you think this bubble shield phase is coming, try to save a close range set of skills to deal with the Berserkers quickly.

Let both groups of two group up together, and then take them down swiftly before Yagak gets an opportunity to start lunging at you while you are distracted. You may also need to dodge another round of Lightning Strikes at your feet while taking down the rest of the Berserkers. Once the Berserkers are down and Yagak is out of the bubble, it will become a matter of going through each of these phases again and again until you can get Yagak's health all the way down.
The Berserkers are a good way to restore health in between phases. If you are low on health, then you know you can heal if you make it to the Berserker phase and get some healing from those enemies, so play defensively and avoid Yagak's attacks to make it to that phase.
If you can keep all of these things in balance, it will simply become a game of how long it takes to get Yagak's health down. If it's taking too long, consider equipping ammo enhancement skills if you have them available to you. Otherwise, just keep pecking away at this brute until you finish the fight.
- Return to camp a bury Jakob.
With that nasty business out of the way, it's time to take stock after what the crew had to ordeal, and lose in the process.
Open the yellow chest near the arena's entrance to unlock a Legendary piece of equipment. When you are ready, use the door to go back to camp.
- Talk to Channa to continue through the Desert.

Now that your crew is back at camp, now is a good time to do any item selling or crafting that you may need to do. Otherwise, it's time to press on and find that signal.
